Our table was tended to by a charming young man by the name Francisco. Overall was a great experience. When we initially walked in we was greeted by the front of house lady in charge and that was all well were then seated for some cocktails just while waiting to have our table ready. This was all good all though from looking around it was easy to spot management and they were really the only bad thing i have to point out about this experience did not greet anyone while walking around very dismissive of clients and sort of telling others what they want done but in a very sort of snobby way. Anyway once seated the environment was really nice lighting was perfect decor really great making you feel comfortable and cozy and with a waiter like Francisco evening was set up to be fantastic as it was he was very skilled at the small talk while recommending bits of the menu and knew it all well absolutely brilliant the young man was me and my partner had a great time much to the credit of Francisco. I had the ox croquettes really tasty had a chilli sauce which added brilliant balance. The main i went for the pork cheeks, fine meat great potato pure and the mushrooms a delight throughout. Initially did not plan for a desert but Francisco swore by the caramel cake and my was he right we ordered one to share but now i regret not having ordered for myself it felt gorgeous in the mouth. Thanks to Erva and mainly Francisco i recommend and would definitely come back just need to tell management to be more engaging and make people feel welcome and important no matter what...
Read moreAh, Erva! Now there's a spot that's really something special. It's got this brilliant mix of top-notch food and a vibe that's just the right kind of laid-back. You walk in, and straight away, you're hit with how nicely they've done the place up. It's stylish, yet comfortable, and the open kitchen is a neat touch. Really adds to the whole atmosphere, seeing the chefs in action.
The food, well, it's just outstanding. Everything on the menu is a hit, but if you're asking for a personal favourite, I've got to tip my hat to the Octopus with rice. I've tried octopus in loads of places, but Erva’s version is something else – seriously tender and packed with flavour. It's one of those dishes that makes you think, "Yeah, I'll be back for that."
Service here deserves a shoutout too. The staff are on the ball – attentive, well-trained, and always sporting a cheerful smile. It's that kind of service that makes you feel genuinely welcome, not just another customer.
And the music – they've got this DJ who knows their stuff. The tunes are spot on, adding to the relaxed, casual vibe of the place. It's the sort of background music that complements the meal perfectly, not too loud, just right.
Overall, Erva's a winner. It's the sort of place where you can kick back, enjoy some brilliant food, and just soak up the good times. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for great food and a great time. And seriously, don’t miss out on that octopus – it's a...
Read moreFor me this was a huge let down. I had high hopes but left very disappointed. The restaurant in appearance is beautiful - chic, hip, a place you want to be. The menu is fantastic and unfortunately I can only review based on what I had, but the order was not complicated. First off, I am more critical because this restaurant commands a high price for its dishes. I had a tuna tartare - the tuna was fresh and the greens were excellent but the dish itself was overwhelmingly salty. I would’ve taken a picture but the waiter came and scrambled up the egg and the dish before I even had a chance to admire it. Speaking of the waiter - really never saw him again. Perhaps it was because I was a single diner but nobody every asked me if I wanted a second glass of wine. Then I had the cod - in Portugal I would expect this one would be great. Sadly, I was wrong. The dish was beautifully presented, the black-eyed peas, bread, and greens were amazing. The cod was chewy - so it was over cooked. The skin was rubbery - not crispy. Lastly, I had a small pile of bones - a fine restaurant should never have this many bones in their cod. I can see one or two small ones but not this. The most untrained fish monger can remove cod bones so it would seem a chef at a fine restaurant should do the same especially if they care about their client. Sadly, this was not a favorable experience. 2 stars only because of the...
