What a nice and kind place in an alley next to the main road between Rato and Prinçipe Real, Rua da Escola Politécnica. Joana at the counter is open hearted and makes you feel good from the very beginning. Beverage and food is well prepared and served and it’s a great tasteful experience to try the different sorts of dumplings. We went for cold tea and dumplings with pork, veal, chicken and shrimps. It‘s strongly recommended to give a shot to the different homemade sauces. Along the classic dumpling sauce, which is included with every offer, we had sweet sour and hot chili. Before the main course we tried the crisp cabbage salad, made with only fresh veggies, sesame and peanuts and served finished with a tasty dressing. As good as the all that above told has been, the pinnacle came with dessert. Mousse da Matcha was a complete new experience to us and this creation is nothing less than great. It’s topped with homemade croquant and it’s hard to withstand the drive to pick the rest from the bowl by tongue. Madame Bō ist in business since less than a year only and started with delivery only. Since May this year there is the little restaurant which offers twelve places for indoor dining. Of course, you can get all things from the menu for take away, if you like. Thanks for this experience and take it as a promise: this wasn’t surely not the last time we payed...

This is a trendy place in Lisbon and I can see why: it offers a cool atmosphere and concept. But I don’t think the value for money is great for the food they offer to be honest. Everything was good (especially the beef dumplings and the pork baozi) but nothing was “wow amazing”. The biggest disappointment was the dessert: we ordered the condensed milk baozi which I was really excited for since I love condensed milk but it was just 2 small balls of fried dough that resembled undercooked bolas de Berlim with a bit of condensed milk on top. To drink, I recommend the homemade ice tea - it was really good. Overall everything was good, the ambience is nice and the staff is friendly and efficient, but I think there’s a WOW factor missing. There are dumpling places in Martim Moniz that are more authentic and cheaper (but of course not as pretty). And there’s also plenty of places in Lisbon where we would’ve eaten better for the same price. But it was nice to try...

Madame Bo is an absolute gem in the culinary world. The ambiance is inviting and chic, making it the perfect spot for any occasion. The menu is a delightful blend of traditional and innovative dishes, each prepared with the utmost care and high-quality ingredients. Every bite is a journey of flavors that leave you craving for more.

One standout experience was the exceptional service provided by one of the staff members. A particular employee with dark hair, short stature, and very light skin was remarkable. Their attentiveness, warm demeanor, and extensive knowledge about the menu significantly enhanced our dining experience. They went above and beyond to ensure our meal was perfect, making us feel welcomed and valued. Their passion for their work truly shines through and adds an extra layer of excellence to Madame Bo. This restaurant is a must-visit for anyone seeking an unforgettable...

Underwhelming... There was no item I would come back for or would recommend to a friend. Prawn dumplings were mushy, and I had to look inside if it was really prawns, since it tasted like any other umami mix. 3 small pieces for 4,5Eur? Maybe..... kitchen choices, I guess. Pork buns were alright. 2 bigger pieces, had some unique flavor to it. The Saddest was Macha Mousse for dessert. I HAD to add a picture. Was really looking to this MOUSSE, fluffy and airy. Instead, I got a macha... SOUP. Runny, milky, no texture... didn't finish. Restaurant didn't have special menu item on a busy friday evening. The only good thing was sake! Big glass for a reasonable price. Sad, since the atmosphere was nice. But food is food, and for 29Eur, I would definitely have gotten a way better foodxperience elsewhere.
