The VENUE — Restaurant in Lisbon

I went out of my way to go to this coffee shop because of the high rating but was extremely disappointed. The coffee was not good and it was cold. The two individuals after me on line received their coffee before I received mine so that was odd. The barista did not know how to speak Portuguese and I got the sense this cafe is more for the random foreigner who is working remotely. Spacious and clean but lacks character. If you are visiting Portugal, not worth going out of your way to visit. You will not find a table anyway - they are all occupied by remote workers et al with laptops who appear to camp for hours after...

The VENUE is still new and probably because of that unfortunately currently only open three days a week, but I can highly recommend a visit. Starting with the quality of the products, I must say that the coffee was very tasty. The food was also very good and there are several sweet and also savory options, some of which are vegan. The two baristas were super friendly and also took the time to chat with us. The ambience is as seen in the pictures and video very cozy and invites you to linger. What a gem! You won't find a better spot to sit for hours, working, reading or simply enjoying the atmosphere (I couldn’t). The Wi-Fi is fast, the background music doesn't distract you (the playlist is lovely btw), the electrical outlets are all over the place, and the coffee is great — both black and milk-based options.
