McDonalds is fast food, and being in an airport, I was expecting typical/standard speed or faster service. This expectation was not met.
Extremely poor service and operations management. Only one person at the cash register, who was exceptionally slow (she was alone and had no support from other colleagues).
Serving each customer took 3-5 mins, literally, without exaggeration. While 1/2 way serving the customer in front of me (order was taken), the manager abruptly approached that one and only cashier employee to show her some paperwork, explain the nature of it and ask her to sign it. The employee asked clarification questions, reviewed the document, then signed it. Then the cashier returned her focus to the customer asking him to reconfirm his order and provide payment. This was excruciatingly long.
There was only 1 very slow employee at the cash register, 6 employees in the kitchen, 3 employees walking around getting food to put on trays, and 3 employees standing around looking at the order screens, standing around, waiting for a task to occur.
At first, I was 3rd in line. After what felt like 10 minutes in line, I was served. After I paid, the wait for food was fine/great (was less than a minute). When I went to pick up my food (1 fries and 1 soup), I asked for ketchup and mayonnaise. An employee put it on my tray and explained that it's not free, I have pay for it. I looked at the line up and there is now 13 parties in line. I asked if I have to line up again, and was told no.
We went to a cashier station, the employee tried but wasn't able to log on. She asked for another colleague to come help her. That person arrived, couldn't help and asked for the manager. The manager arrived, did something on the computer and walked away. The employee tried to click a few things, but it didn't work. She asked the other colleague to help again. He couldn't figure it out either. I said, "This experience had been way too long, I just want to leave, can I just leave?" She asked me to please wait and went to get the manager again. Arriving back with the manager, the manager swiped her card, did a few things in the computer and I paid.
I told the manager, something is not right here. The service is very slow, the queue is so backed up, and it shouldn't take 3 employees to get a customer ketchup. The manager said, very softly, "please, we are not being rude." I didn't know how to respond to that and...
Read moreI was at this McDonald’s yesterday around 5:20-5:50, ordered at the kiosk then went to collect my order. There was a woman on the left in the collection area doing absolutely nothing, being rude to English speaking customers and ignoring them as she marked orders as collected. They got my order wrong 2 times, I was being polite and waited for around 30 mins for my order, I came back to ask for a missing item and she was rolling her eyes because she didn’t understand what I was saying and laughed. And to add before I even told her what was missing she told me what it was and laughed, she was very passive aggressive. Also I saw woman at the McCafe area burn orders 4-5 times time. That woman on the collection point was disgusting, her behaviour was extremely rude! She purposely gave my order wrong, I paid for my order! AND it was all wrong at the end of it, I gave them free money and the food was not even what I ordered. Honestly go to Paul’s instead. I would like to add that In the airport, you should have English speaking servers since it’s a universal language and not have staff ignoring, rolling her eyes and laughing at customers who just want their food and are minding their own business. Also, that woman was letting the other woman on the right do all the work. She had multiple people coming back because she had missed out on certain things. We’re all already in a rush but if customers are being polite there’s no reason to be RUDE and on top of that get our...
Read moreMcDonald’s, at Lissabons airport. What could go wrong? Well, quite a few Things. As we were about to order we were confronted by the fact that there are no Gluten free options, Not even the disgusting cardboard in plastic wrapped Burger . So my dear friend who has celiac disease, bless her heart had no other options than to Order Fries and the chicken Wings (that are most definetly not gluten free). Now the only thing left for us to do is praying she wont have a severe explosive diarrhea attack on the little tolitet stalls on the plane… Of course you can argue with: "then why would she eat it?", but desperate times Call for desperate solutions… The Food arrived pretty fast but at the same time cold. The breaking point was when we realised that they didn't even give us napkins, not even for the wings!?! You know I'm a simple Person and like a good basic McDonald meal and I appreciate the speed and low prices. But what I DON'T appreciate is the ignorance towards people from the gluten free community.
Food was edible, but we would not come here...
