Mother Burger — Restaurant in Lisbon

I’ve been wanting to try this place ever since they first opened but just never did (since vegans are practically suffocating in veggie burgers from every direction lol) … ordered a meal today and it was really anticlimactic. I’ll start with the good… the spicy cheese balls… they were amazing, so yummy, amazing texture, perfectly spicy. 10/10 would eat again but they should have come with a chutney or nice sauce instead if ketchup packets.

The banana vanilla milkshake was okay, just okay… not much flavour & I didn’t like that it had ice cubes in it when ice was clearly already blended into it.

Lastly the “don’t be a chicken burger” …now that was horrible! Weirdest burger I’ve ever had & I’ve been vegan almost 10 years so I’ve had a lot of veggie burgers. This was one of the worst. The bun was totally soggy & mushy, the curry coleslaw in it was yummy despite being such a tiny little amount… the cheddar was fine, the Mayo was flavourless, the “fake chicken” burger patty was DISGUSTING… soooo dry, lumpy, chewy, did I mention dry?? … weird colour, even weirder taste… I’ve never had a burger that was just so so bad. And why did I pay €1.45 for pickles as an extra when they gave me two tiny slivers of a mini pickle??

My non-vegan friend got the same “don’t be a chicken burger” a few months ago also & said it was horrible but I didn’t believe him, I thought he was just saying that because he wasn’t used to faux meats… well sh*t, he was right.

My first and last time ordering from here… which is a shame because I love to support vegan business… but the price simply doesn’t match the quality. There are countless other vegan & veggie places in Lisbon with way better veggie burgers… Moko veggie cafe for example has a chicken style burger that’s not only good (unlike this one) but is...

Vegan Food Review 🌱

I had an 18 hr layover in Lisbon, Portugal and this was the (planned) first stop on my trip. I literally checked into my hotel, dropped my bags, and navigated to this spot. 🍔 I cannot resist a good vegan burger!

As an American, with billions of vegan food burger options, I realize I am a bit spoiled. But, I was soooo grateful for a vegan burger place so conveniently located in the mall, I would be hard pressed to complain about anything.

The service was great! The counter attendant was so pleasant and did her best to help me navigate the menu. The photos, of course, were super helpful.

I was famished and over ordered. Shown here is the “Hll Burger”, a protein burger on a bun, covered in coleslaw, cheddar cheese, and spicy mayo. It definitely sent me to heaven instead of Hll…juicy goodness… everything you want in a burger. I’m a bit of a fry snob, but these passed my test; however, the Oreo shake just did not deliver for my taste. 😔It was watery, not thick and creamy as a shake should be. I did, however love the whip cream on top.

Hoje dia 12/11/2022 foi a 2ª vez que levámos "take away" desta Hamburgueria Vegan. Na 1ª vez ficamos algo decepcionados pelo que decidimos não comentar e aguardar por uma 2ª experiencia. Antes de mais queremos dar os parabéns pela ideia/iniciativa, não somos vegan mas gostamos de comidas saudaveis. Hoje chegámos a este local as 17h, nao havia 1 unico cliente devido á hora e não vimos nenhum funcionario, normal, pois a esta hora o movimento é pouco e o mesmo estaria no "interior" a resguardar-se. Aguardamos mais de 6/7 minutos e ate nos questionámos se estaria aberto, por ser tão cedo e não haver ninguem no atendimento. Decidimos tocar a campainha e entao surgiu uma funcionaria, não pareceu muito contente , não sei, estariamos a incomodar, tanto que perguntei se ja serviam refeiçoes aquela hora, resposta afirmativa. Sempre sem grande sorrisos, atendeu ao nosso pedido, conforme fotos anexas : 2 x Sorry Not Sorry com Batatas Doce Fritas... no final do pagamento, as17h20 fomos informados que iria levar tempo... nao compreendemos pois não havia mais clientes, mas aceitámos. Foram seguramente uns 30 min (talvez mais) ate recebermos o nosso pedido. Recolhemos o pedido e...Culpa nossa, que não verificamos no local se estava tudo certo (acreditámos que sim, pois que erro poderia acontecer se apenas havia o nosso pedido a decorrer?) e chegados a casa começam as surpresas... onde estao as batatas DOCES fritas? OK, enganos acontecem.... pelo menos as batatas fritas "normais" estavam boas... pena que pagámos o extra e fomos comidos por cebolada... e por falar em Cebolas... onde estão elas? Sentimos-lhe o cheiro e já nao foi mau... e as cebolas caramelizadas ? Estas conseguimos encontrar pois sao castanhas e constavam , mas em pouca quantidade, tal como a alface.... a maionese...tipo ingredientes tão baratos e mesmo assim em quantidade minima , inadmissivel quando pagamos por cada Hamburguer+ Batatas 9.46eur (com as tais batatas doces...) e sem bebida! Estavam os hamburguers bastante secos... na nossa opinião, enfim...Não acredito que seja culpa da funcionaria a falta de ingredientes. pois para ela colocar mais, não lhe sai da carteira, acredito que seja "politica" da empresa e garanto que não voltaremos, das 2x que cá viemos não correu como esperavamos e eram funcionarias diferentes Deixamos fotos para corroborar a analise que fizemos. Editei para dizer que hoje , dia 25/01 não houve ainda nenhum comentário por parte de quem dirige este restaurante, o que ainda indica mais o desgoverno e o "deixa andar", o que é uma pena, pois este conceito tinha tudo...
