Raffi, you had one job...one!

Once upon a time, there was a very good bagel place in town (called Santo Bagel btw) but that place closed. So, we were delighted to find another one. But then we tried Raffi''s Bagels...and that was that. The bagels themselves hardly qualify as bagels. They seemed to have been bought frozen at a supermarket. The portions were surprisingly small as well with odd mixtures of ingredients (putting sharp Cheddar-like "island cheese" - i.e. queixo de ilha - on a salmon bagel is a sign that you don't understand flavor, let alone bagels). The service was also nothing to write home about. Getting disapproving looks from the server because we didn't order a full "menu" was a nice touch. Just glad she didn't spit on me when I went to pay.

Anyway, the reason I am giving 2 stars instead of 1 is that the bathrooms were really clean...then again, if you have no customers, why would...

Slightly disappointed by this breakfast. The outdoor section of the restaurant is essentially on the street, and it was filthy. However, it was a better option than sitting indoors as there’s no A/C and it’s boiling hot. We had the Eggy Bagel Menu which reads as if it’s a bagel with scrambled eggs, spinach, rosa tomatoes, parmesan etc. on, however, it was a side salad and a bagel with just scrambled egg. Everything was very tasteless and the salad bitter. I really would not recommend as we left disappointed that we spent €25 on a meal that left us both disappointed as even the orange juice tasted as if it was poured from a box. Thankfully, the...

After 4 days in Lisboa, we were craving a simple bagel and luckily we found Raffi's Bagels. It is the first and only bagel shop in Lisboa right now and it couldn't be more perfect. They make their own bagels which are a little smaller than the American version but so good. The right amount of chew. The scallion cream cheese is great. They even make a good latte, which is very hard to find. Super friendly, welcoming, charming environment. Raffi was a pleasure...
