The only thing harder than the food was leaving without crying.

I don’t even know where to begin — this was hands down the WORST dining experience I’ve ever had. First off, they brought us bread (already sad when the bread is the highlight), and then had the audacity to CHARGE US for it. Pro tip: if you’re going to charge for bread, maybe don’t make it taste like stale cardboard from the ’90s.

The main dishes looked decent… until we tried to eat them. The food was so hard I honestly thought we were being pranked. Like, is this a meal or a dental obstacle course?

And no warning whatsoever that the food was basically edible bricks. One of my friends literally had her bracket break from biting into a fry. BURNT. FRIES. How do you mess up fries? They were like salty sticks of charcoal. I swear one of them crunched louder than her tooth.

The service? Absolutely nonexistent. I’ve had warmer interactions with parking meters. Rude, slow, and looked at us like we were ruining their night.

And just when we thought it couldn’t get worse — surprise! THEY DON’T TAKE CARDS. CASH ONLY. And they don’t tell you that until you’re at the register trying to pay. Because who doesn’t love a panic attack after a bad meal?

Save your money, your teeth, and your dignity. Unless you’re into overpriced bread, dental injuries, and getting scammed at the...

I recently discovered Restaurante Cabaças through Instagram, and I was immediately intrigued by the unique concept of cooking your own steak at your table using a hot stone. So, when the opportunity arose to try it out, I couldn’t pass it up!

First off, be sure to arrive early—the restaurant opens at 7 PM, and the crowds build up very quickly! When I got there, I was pleasantly surprised by how efficiently the staff seated us and took our orders. Our food and wine were delivered swiftly, allowing us to dive right into the cooking experience.

We decided to order the veal loin and the Picanha, both of which were beautifully prepared and served on a tray with the hot stone in the center. The tray also included salt for seasoning and a selection of delicious sauces for dipping our steaks.

The process of cooking our food was genuinely fun and created a lively atmosphere at our table, filled with laughter and friendly banter. It turned the meal into an interactive experience, which I thoroughly enjoyed.

Everything on the menu is very fairly priced, making it an excellent value for the high-quality meat you receive.

I can confidently say that I will be revisiting Restaurante Cabaças on my next trip to the beautiful city of Lisbon. It’s truly a delightful dining experience that I highly recommend to anyone looking for...

There's already a queue when they open at 7pm. The food including drinks and appetizers take a long time because of that. We waited about fifteen minutes for drinks and more than 30min for the rest. The fish dishes come with the typical unspectacular potatoes and tomatoe rings. The fish rice bowls are by far enough for two people. Cannot recommend the codfish - tons of bones and the taste was meh. The octopus rice was much better, nice and soft. The meat dishes come with fries. The meat itself is nice and you will cook it to your liking on a hot stone. The fries are worse than any fast food fries...think the opposite of crispy, like an hour old. The meat can be dipped into salt and two mayonnaise based sauces. Mains are between €8-12. The traditional Portuguese appetizers are available. All in all, it's a nice dinner but I truly do not understand the queues. We came here because it was right next to our accommodation. Seating is very tight. The one waitress also seemed to be overwhelmed with all the people. She missed some of our orders. Wouldn't come back a...

Totally recommended Typical Portuguese cuisine in the heart of Lisbon in a non touristic humble reastaurant. It's a luxury to have the possibility to enjoy dinner in a humble place where you can taste the best quality food, either fresh fish or top noch meat, to be precise we had picanha and Naco cooked by ourselves on a hot stone, with two delicious sauces to dip the meat chunks and we were served fries to accompany the awesome meat, as you are the one who cook the meat you won't have to wait at all to enjoy the chosen dish, we chose baba de Camelo as a dessert, it's a traditional Portuguese kind of custard. I have to say that the staff was really helpful, funny and polite, we got to the restaurant in a busy hour in mid August, and the waiter ushered us to the table without waiting. The place it's a little hidden close to Camoes square, we had Naco and picanha, a pitcher of house wine, a cocacola can and dessert, we only paid only 32,40 euros, totally worthwhile and off course, I absolutely recommend this place

We were told by a friend to come here and we also saw always lots of people queuing to get a table. On our last day in Lisbon we decided to queue too to try. It was a disappointment. Despite the fact that there were not many people queuing we had to wait almost an hour. The host didn't estimate the time on the first place. The table was already set up with an appetitive that we ate as we were hungry and we knew we we going to be charged...but not that it worth 13€...for something we didn't order. The site is so small that you have to eat side by side with other people and in order to sit you have to literally move the table. The very "famous" main courses were nothing special. €10 for a skewers that had not much meat and €9 for a steak that wasn't even a steak. No card payment were accepted and no sign anywhere. Sometimes I wonder why people queue for sites like this. With the price we paid we could have eaten in restaurant where at least you have your own table. Not recommended.
