We were staying at the Myriad by SANA Hotel and didn’t want to venture out too far, so we decided to have dinner at River Lounge, the restaurant inside the hotel. We were seated outside in the back, and it was beautiful and romantic with a great view of the river. We went around 8:30 to 9 p.m., and there were just a few other tables filled, which made it feel peaceful and intimate.
When we first walked in, a DJ was playing some really good tunes that set the perfect vibe for the evening. Unfortunately, after about 30 to 45 minutes, the music stopped and it got completely quiet, which changed the atmosphere a bit, but we were still enjoying ourselves.
We started with the garlic shrimp and the pica-pau, which was veal tenderloin served with bread to soak up the juices. Both were packed with flavor and cooked perfectly. For dinner, we had the veal loin, which was tender and delicious. We finished the meal with the chocolate sphere, which came with raspberry pearls, almond crumble, and a red berry sorbet. It was an impressive and tasty dessert.
The only downside was the service. It wasn’t bad, but it felt a little slow and inattentive at times. I had to ask for bread and a few other things multiple times, which made it seem like they might have been short-staffed. That said, it didn’t take away from the overall experience. We took our time, enjoyed each other’s company, the food, and the river views.
All in all, it was a lovely dinner with great food and a relaxing atmosphere. If you’re staying at the Myriad, River Lounge is definitely...
Read moreDuring my recent visit to Lisbon, I had the pleasure of dining at the River Lounge in the Myriad Hotel. My taste buds were taken on a delightful journey by the restaurant's superb offerings, but the stars of my meal were undoubtedly the octopus and oysters.
Starting with the octopus, it was cooked to absolute perfection, a marvel in texture and flavor. The tender, succulent flesh, combined with a slightly smoky char on the outside, was an unforgettable treat. Every bite was a testament to the chef's skill and the freshness of the ingredients used. Coupled with a delightful sauce that enhanced the dish without overshadowing the octopus's flavor, it was an absolute standout.
The oysters, on the other hand, were a beautiful homage to the sea. Served on a bed of crushed ice with just the right amount of lemon to accent their briny freshness, these delicacies were a joy to savor. Each oyster was a taste of the ocean, fresh, briny, and utterly delicious. They were meticulously shucked, ensuring a clean taste and presentation.
The setting of the River Lounge, with its splendid view of the Tagus River, made the dining experience all the more enjoyable. Combined with the impeccable service I received from the attentive staff, my meal at the River Lounge was one I won't soon forget.
For anyone visiting Lisbon, a meal at the River Lounge in the Myriad Hotel is a must, especially for seafood lovers. The octopus and oysters are worth the trip alone, and I am already looking forward to my next opportunity to enjoy these remarkable dishes. Five...
Read moreThe restaurant is worth it by the scenic setting and the quality of the food. Better during the day, when you can enjoy the river view. The outdoors lounge in the summer must be quite spectacular. The menu is relatively limited but every thing we tried was beautifully prepared. Kudos to the chef! However, we did not enjoy the service, which was not particularly attentive or welcoming. The waiters give of a submissive vibe that does not suit the place. Worst part: the wines are horribly overpriced, beyond anything we have ever seen. It was also particularly annoying to have to make three requests until we could finally get our pick because in spite of a digital menu, our two first choices were out of stock and the waiters didn’t even know it. Finally, although the interior design is nice, the chairs are not particularly comfortable. Overall, for ~170€ for a party of two (with one of the least expensive wines in the menu), we were...
