What a soulful wonderful place with the most authentic Slavic (read, russian + ukranian) food. Takes me back in time to my childhood and my mom’s and dad’s cooking. Ive been here many times, and loving the welcoming warm atmosphere as well as thoughtfully prepared honest food.
To anyone unfamiliar with this cuisine, give it a try, you won’t be disappointed.
I can’t single out any dishes, they are all truly delicious, from Borsch to Draniki to Pelmeni to Bliny to Vareniki, and an absolutely heavenly Charlotte cake. Big thank you to Varvara and Vladimir for bringing this dearly missed cuisine to Lisbon.
Ps. Having read the barrage of hateful comments, I’d like to point out that it seems like someone truly has a vicious agenda about this place. I’ve been there around ten times by now, both with Russian, Portuguese and English speakers. We have always been treated very well and the food is wonderful. It’s really sad to see that some people has nothing better to do with their lives than try to bring a genuine business down with their petty fake comments. To those I just want to say: go love yourselves. :)
Read moreInteresting east European food. Had the Borsch which was intruiging and well done, also had a hamburger which was very nice and affordable. The interior is simple but tasteful with attention to detail like the wine glasses being in an opposing color to the chairs and the cutlery having sleek design. The soda however came in a can which gave the place a more snackbar vibe, which is fine by me but contradicts the more sophisticated overall design. The wine was ok but nothing special, same as the beer, just a common lager and nothing special, would be cool if they had some fun eater European drinks. Music was generic and would also be cool if it was more outspoken like for example eastern European if that is the vibe they are going for. Overall a good place that I highly recommend. I think the lightning is a little too bright, which also gives it a bit more of a snackbar vibe. The prices are very low, would probably make sense to include dishes, sides and drinks that are more expensive as for some it will be the excotic option to eat eastern European on literally the other side of Europe so they might be willing to indulge further to get a feel of...
Read moreI discovered this place for the first time in early October while looking for a place to eat food locally. Highly recommend the place. I am a local portuguese and have been meaning to try their Borscht since they opened their place recently as I had lived in Ukraine a while ago. It is so good I have eaten it 2 times already.
Their food is quite delicious and done with love. I have also eaten the Puree with turkey which is also very good! I have been there more than one time and will start going more often as opportunity allow.
Barbara and Vladimir are amazing people. It is very nice to meet people with such hospitality and kindness in their hearts. I wish their restaurant much success.
