Seagull Method cafe • Brunch — Restaurant in Lisbon

Terrible experience. Left us waiting in the heat when there were tables ready, simply because no one could be bothered to clean them. When I initially went to put my name on the list at 10am there was a table reserved for 2pm and out of use. Then when we went inside to inquire after watching another empty table for almost ten minutes, and being next on the waiting list, the redheaded waitress responded very rudely with such attitude and said she would get us when she's ready. Which was another 5mins. Then, we waited to be served once inside, for almost 20 minutes, and watched people that came in after us be served coffees and have their orders taken before us. After ordering our coffee and food, it took 15 more minutes to get our drinks after watching them sit at the bar for five minutes. It then took another 15 minutes to receive our partially cold food. Out of the three meals ordered, only one had flavour. The breakfast burger and Friday morning were so small, underwhelming & almost tasteless. When we went to pay, they asked my husband if he wanted to leave a service tip and my husband actually laughed. I'm not sure how the ratings on this place are so high, even without the lack of service, the food was bland and overpriced. Truly a waste of my time in Lisbon & the people that left just ahead of us were saying...

Went twice and had slightly different experiences. Our first visit Leo from Brasil was our waiter and he was great from the start. He was friendly and had great energy, we asked for his recommendations and he gave us a thorough answer which didn’t disappoint. We loved their breakfast burger, Jesus, Mushrooms, and French Mirage. I had seen a photo of their Bumble Coffee and asked him if it was good. He honestly told me it wasn’t his kind of drink, but people enjoy it. When it came out it wasn’t the same frothy one from the photo, but I still enjoyed it. When he asked me my thoughts I told him it was interesting and different but I expected it with a foam on top like their photo. He explained they serve it two different styles and brought the foamy version for free, so nice of him! I personally liked the coffee whipped foam one more. Since we had such a lovely experience and the food was delicious we went another morning on our trip. The women who took our orders and brought our food, were less personable and more of just doing their jobs. (Which isn’t bad, just didn’t leave an impact like Leo did). We ordered the Breakfast burger again and tried the Hey, Salmon! This time around. The salmon plate was beautifully plated but fell short...

As a vegan I was reassured by the number labelled of vegetarian dishes on the menu, but surprised that none of them were vegan. When I asked what one the menu could be veganised, the waiter asked me to explain what I couldn't eat, which did not instill much confidence. I am also lactose intolerant and said so.

After asking them to combine a few things to make a vegan dish, I received a delicious looking loaded toast, on a bed on yogurt... I checked if it was dairy and the waiter confirmed that it was and offered to give me a new slice of toast to remake the dish myself without the yogurt. although i didnt want the food to go to waste, their dishes are not cheap and I wanted an entire dish that I could eat. They eventually took it away and made a new one.

After finishing the meal my gut was incredibly uncomfortable and I suspect the cooked the food in butter. In an age where allergies and intolerances are prevelant, this restaurant's understanding of dietary requirements was shockly bad and the service was pretty appalling.
