It was a shame, we came to have a good night celebrating my friends’ Hen party but left with a sour taste. We booked well in advance, and paid a deposit. Also at this point I advised that 1 of 3 of us had dietary requirements (being a vegetarian) and I was told that wouldn’t be a problem at all, it would be noted and then just to remind the staff on arrival. So upon arrival we were told that the set menu was the set menu, and that it just meant that one of us had limited options and to avoid the meat dishes. No alternatives given. The food was nice enough, it was just a shame that they couldn’t cater for a simple dietary requirement when we were advised it wouldn’t be a problem. When you are paying €40 per head, you would expect that should one of you not eat meat that something else would be offered, especially seeing as we had given notice of this. We were told on reservation that we would have the table for 2 hours, however after 1.5 hours we were asked if we could leave the table so other guests could be seated. They said this after we had just ordered more drinks, so we were left awkwardly standing next to the table we were just sat at. It felt really rude and pushy, and if that was their plan then why let us spend more money buying drinks when really they wanted us to leave. So we decided to settle the bill. We had paid a deposit to cover all our food when securing the booking, however we were then told we had to pay that again and then be refunded our deposit in the next week. They also didn’t believe we had paid the deposit and I had to go through my emails to prove this. Obviously this isn’t the way a deposit usually works, and another member of staff then came over to say no we can just pay for the drinks as we had already covered food. But then when we paid via cash they couldn’t give us any change and again we were left wondering why this service was so bad. Luckily, Vilamoura has some really great restaurants and bars so we took our business elsewhere, but I would definitely not recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting for sheer lack of customer care.
