We picked to go here our first night in simply for a little nibble. Mae D'Alma cafetaria is a charming little place with delicious pastries and ☕️. Even with a slight language barrier (my husband was our personal translator 😀) the lady and fella were patient and kind as we chose our food. Sitting outside with treats and ☕️ and our two boys as the sun goes down in the city was soothing and enjoyable. Ponta Delgada is a really awesome city where people are walking everywhere. It's busy but definitely not hectic busy, just a good vibe busy. Sitting at the café it was fun to people watch. I could walk this city daily and I don't think I'd ever bore of it. Coble stone streets, adorable cafe's and shops, great fashion, the harbour.......did I mention the café. Go see for yourself I promise...

Very smart modern feel, great patisserie and lunch options on a Saturday, even better I guess during the week. I think most dietary requirements can be catered for. Good prices, and the only place open early, but the food was underwhelming and they gave me the wrong chocolate croissant. The one with powdered sugar that they gave me was so bad I threw it away...
