Great atmosphere. Warm & friendly service. Generous servings on hot plates. Great value. A popular place with the locals. Worth the 1/2 hr wait . The waiter (Paul , I think) was very professional. We both had the menu del dia(me with a few changes). It started with a great vegetable soup. I paid the small supplement for a perfectly cooked ( rare) sirloin steak. Our plates were preheated. He changed the traditional boiled potatoes for a mash and instead of salad , provided a portion of mushroom and spinach sautéed in garlic, without issue or additional cost. The Merluza(Hake) was fresh and nicely cooked ie moist. The desserts were delicious. Enjoyed an excellent bottle of red off the menu instead of the house white.(but the house wine was still served). Followed by an additional generous brandy. The serves were generous and filling. Eur15 food per person, add 4 Eur for...

As the other reviews state, this is a great local find. We were lucky to walk in when we did as the place was packed (on a Tuesday) but they had tables. A few minutes later there was a line out the door, which shows how popular it is with the locals.

The staff was super friendly and helpful (and seemed to know all the customers). The restaurant clean and welcoming. Menu was simple - pick a fish or meat main, + you get a soup, bread and a drink for €11.50. A half bottle of wine is €3. We didn't have dessert, but it looked great, all for €3.

The food is great. Not Michelin star great, but perfect for the price and large portions (if you read my reviews you know i eat a lot and this was enough for me). We had the local cod fillet and fish cakes.

Can't fault this place. Would certainly recommend if this is the kind of experience you're...

you get what you pay for: mediocre food and bad waiting staff. We did not get the time to choose something, they were asking us 4 times what we wanted and the 4th time he basically chose for us. Like other people; we were not done eating soup and we already got the main. Mine was okay, I got the chicken. My girlfriend got the Braga style fried cod and it was disgusting. I chewed for more than a minute and I could not swallow it, it was like chewing gum. It was also too salty and the plate was a mess. I like big portions, but this is just wasting food and ruining it as well. The potatoe slices were covered in the deep fry fat and inedible at that point. It's not that bad, since my meal was okay. But I would not recommend it, definitely not worth the 4.5...
