Here you will find truly traditional portuguese food. The restaurant is in an old building that has been recovered in on of the oldest areas of Oporto. In the past this was not such a great area but, since a few years ago an art school moved nearly, the area gained a new live and is now always filled with people, mostly art students, so there is always something happeing there.

There is an amazing view of the river both during the day or the night. You should book in advance, specially during the weekends. You can easily walk there from some of the cities main atraction, for instance Clerigos Tour, is about a 5 minute walk and the cities main Square (Praça da Liberdade) is about a 10 minute walk - so you can probably squeeze in a lunch here in the middle of your visit to the city's historic center or finish of the day with a nice traditional dinner.

The menu does not have a relevant vegetarian option, but has great traditional portuguese food dishes. I would suggest the starters : Warm goat cheese, dry tomatos and figues / Traditional Portuguese sausage (Chourizo) cooked at the table; or the main course : Fresh slightly grilled Tuna with sweet potato puree and sesame seeds. The portions are good - you can share most of the starters and so, if you are in a group, try more dished and flavours. The staff is really friendly and ready to help, and the food is...

Beautiful views on the second floor and that's all the nice things I can say about the place. Unfortunately the service was lacking and made the experience and meal a horrible experience. There were only two other tables being waited on so you would expect the service to be adequate but it was not.

  1. The Aperol spritz was a splash of Aperol that you could barely taste and the rest water (barely carbonated).
  2. For the starter we ordered the scallops, good flavor but was over done making them chewy, otherwise it would have been tasty... I think
  3. As the main we ordered the octopus and sea bas rice and the octopus came out cold and vegetables were very salty. We heard the kitchen rigging the bell for ten minutes so makes sense why it was cold. When we told the server he did not care or asked to reheat it.
  4. finally we ordered the sangria for our dinner and never came yet they tried to charge for it.

Even though the view was beautiful you can just go to the park across the street to watch the sunset and go to another...

Been in Porto only for 3 days with my sister... This been absolutely the best dinner I had, the taste and quality was astonishing... We've been 2 person and got a this: 2 starter shared(ask for the mushroom cream and don't miss the shrimp with garlic), a tuna tartar (also a starter) and a big octopus served with cheesy mashed potatoes was enough to doubt about the dessert!

Of course we changed our mind after the incredible taste of the plates...

We took the tiramisù and remind me the Christmas specialty from my origin, simply lovable!

Price around 45 euro each including the 2 bottle of white wine so not much considering the quality and qauntity of the dinner...

It surely...

Great food and service! Great location for viewing of sunset so gets crowded early. Reservations are a must most days. Went as a group of 8 including two little kids. Very personable service. Had the Calo Verde soup (a little salty), scallops, (excellent) and the alfeiro croquettes (good) as starters. Group had the shrimp with pasta (excellent), mushroom risotto (good), tuna steak (ok, fishy), Portuguese steak (good), mustard steak (good), steak chop for two (excellent), sea bass (excellent), sea rice (the best!!). Would absolutely visit again next time in Porto!
