We read about this restaurant online and it came to our attention because the story behind it seemed super interesting! from what we saw online, it was supposed to be a one man show cooking for all tables with a very limited menu! However, when we got there we were just told "its the world's smallest kitchen" and there was a helper in the kitchen + a table staff as well. This itself brought down the charm and much to our amusement - a lot of the starters were prepared by the helper not even the main "chef". Other than that, the food was way below average for the amount you are paying. We ordered a cheese platter for the starters and it felt like old cheese bought in the supermarket at the cheapest price and the presentation was horrible as well. The mains were okay but I would never say it was anything about average. The dessert was probably the best thing we had (a cold brownie) with banana caramel. Overall, the amount we ended up paying for the bill was totally not worth it and it left us wishing we went somewhere else for our last dinner in Porto. Unfortunately I don't recommend this place if you are looking for your moneys worth. Not to mention I got sick as well the day after :) I knew the Tuna tataki tasted and...
Read moreWHAT A TREAT! Ive been to Michelin Star restaurants around the world, and sometimes the experience is more about the connection and interest the chef has with his customers as well as the food.. This was one of those cases where we had such a magnificent experience that it just made it so special. The restaurant is a small intimate place where there is no more than 4 or 5 tables . The food is so fresh you can taste it in every dish. The carisma of Ricardo the owner and chef is exceptional and takes you through a culinary journey of Portuguese flavors. The Tuna was incredible, the Cod was so fresh, the wine paring was perfect, but we enjoyed more than anything having a conversation w the chef through out our meal. I dont tend to leave comments , but just felt tonight was a special night. We are very grateful for the experience, and can tell anyone reading this to go, enjoy a delicious meal, in this cozy, non pretentious setting w a chef that loves what he does and you see it when you taste his food. Thank you Ricardo for the marvelous dinner, this made our stay In Porto even more amazing....
Read moreNot satisfied at all...actually the worst dining experience in Porto...Taking into account the surface of the restaurant (similar to regular living room) and the number of tables (4 !!!), you would expect personal approach and superior quality...We did not witness that. At least 80 % of all ingredients/dishes have been prepared many hours ago (hopefully not days), thus stucked in plastic bags in fridge - this is not cooking, sorry. This leads to very different temperature of particular ingredients within one dish. And you do not want that. The level of staff is also very poor. The worst thing about the menu has been "tuna fish", no doubt it. They call it tataki, but it´s been well-done unfresh steak of tuna fish divided into 3 pieces (look at the picture enclosed) - the quality of fish has been poor even for that "steak" version, super far away from tataki quality. Very sad to make such a review, but €84 spent should be equally balanced (I would value it at €50 max having counted €28 for a...
