Churrasqueira A Brasa — Restaurant in Porto

This place was horrendous. Would NOT recommend at all for various reasons. We wanted to relax and try Portuguese food on our vacation here but were very underwhelmed by the food and the service here. I'm actually surprised by all the good reviews this place has. Waiters are rude and look like they don't want to serve you nor be there. Their attitude is an absolute joke. We ordered the chicken and the tomato salad with fresh cheese. The chicken was dry and lacked seasoning. The tomatoes in the salad were not ripe either and again, lacked seasoning. Ordered chili sauce to go with the chicken and the condition of the bottle was disgustingly kept with sauce leaking out of the top.

The view is somewhat nice if you're sitting inside by the windows however the whole experience gets ruined by their service.

Do not waste your time and money here....

How this place gets more than two stars, I don't know. The boiled potatoes were nice. The vegetable side was a mix of the most tasteless, bland, boiled-to-death vegetables I can think of – beans, carrots, and long-suffering cabbage. It reminded me of nightmare dishes I got in Czechia when it was still communist. It had no flavour other than boiled-far-too-long.

The signature grilled codfish was flavoursome, except that it was so tough, I had to chew it for at least five minutes before I could swallow. By that stage, the fish had lost its flavour, just like chewing gum does after you chew it for ten minutes. Not appetising. I won't be going back. You must try this place if you're visiting Porto, Churrasqueira A Brasa has one of the best BBQ chicken I’ve had during my entire three-week trip in Portugal! I went there three times. First time with friends who are locals and they are the ones who recommended it. The food was absolutely delicious, flavorful, perfectly cooked, and served in generous portions. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, making it a great spot to relax and enjoy a meal. The staff were friendly and attentive, making sure I had everything I needed throughout the evening. Even though they are busy they never rush you to eat. I left completely satisfied and happy, and I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for an excellent dining experience.
