Our gaggle of tired souls straggled in after a day of wandering - grumpy little kids, over-sized stroller, hungry/angry parents. They were super-friendly and helped us carry all our crap upstairs to the beautiful second floor dining room. We were the first in the place so we definitely got good service. The beer from the tap was icy cold, which made us happy. We ordered two soups and one full order of ribs, which came with rice and french fries. The ribs were very tender and very tasty. I asked for some piri-piri sauce - because I like very spicy food - and it was, bar none, the spiciest piri-piri sauce on the planet. I loved it but had to back off because tears were running down my face. We managed to - barely - finish the one order of ribs (12€) and couldn't finish the soups. Our bill, including drinks was 18.50€ - the best deal we've had so far. If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the very touristy areas, I would highly...
Read moreI came for dinner in this place in Porto. From outside, you could easily misjudge . Once inside, the place was lovely, typical bbq restaurant with coal fire smelling delicious. We went upstairs and sat. The waiter was very helpful and cordially told us to go for half portion of the meal as they were pretty big. When the “half portion” arrived, it was still huge! I had the grilled octopus with roast potatoes and roast veggies and it was one of the best octopus I have ever had. The taste and consistency was incredible ( if not cooked well, they can get like hard chewing gum). Also the picanha for my partner was exceptional and the “half portion” was huge! I walked out so full I could roll. The price was more than reasonable for all the stuff we’ve had. Big shout out to this restaurant! You...
Read moreThe food was definitely tasteless and floating in oil (we had grilled salmon and octopus), and the place was swarming with little flies. At the end, we had the surprise to find out that half of portion of the octopus costed 20 euros, when I could've sworn that in the menu it was 10. As a reference, the salmon was 9 euros for half of portion. When asking the waiter about it, he started looking for a specific menu from the stack, which was very weird, and then called someone else to bring it to us to show us the price from the menu. In here, the price for the octopus was overwritten by hand, with a very thin 2 over the 1. The place and the waiters look a bit shady, for me it's going to be a mystery why they have such a high rating. TL;DR: Big portions of mediocre food, shady place,...
