A Gastronomic Symphony at Gastro by Elemento Forget the stale pronouncements of stuffy Michelin guides. Forget the predictable, pedestrian fare churned out by overpriced bistros. At Gastro by Elemento, a culinary epiphany awaits, a chorus of flavors conducted by a masterful team whose passion transcends the plate.

My recent foray into this haven of haute cuisine began with a forgivable delay. One of my companions, a notorious libertine of timeliness, dared to threaten the sanctity of our reservation. Yet, the staff at Gastro by Elemento greeted us not with impatience, but with a warmth that rivaled the glow of the Portuguese sun. They were the invisible orchestra conductors, ensuring a seamless flow of service throughout the evening.

And then, the degustation menu arrived. Each course, a meticulously crafted stanza in a poem of organic excellence, was a revelation. It was as if the freshest ingredients, whispering secrets of the Portuguese soil, had been coaxed into a symphony of taste by unseen culinary virtuosos.

One particular note deserves a standing ovation: the Spanish wine paired with a specific course. Here was not your run-of-the-mill plonk, but a tipple born from volcanic fire. The minerality, a captivating counterpoint to the other elements on the plate, lingered on the palate, an echo of the earth's raw power.

This is not merely a meal, dear reader, this is an experience. Gastro by Elemento is a testament to the transformative potential of food, a place where attentive service waltzes with innovative cuisine to create a truly unforgettable evening. Do yourself a favor, and book a table. Let the symphony of flavor wash over you, and prepare to...

We celebrated our engagement in Porto by visiting Gastro on a Friday night and quite frankly it was the perfect way to celebrate.

We have dined at many restaurants on the Michelin guide and without a doubt it is the best dining experience we have had to date.

Every one of the 15 moments were unique and memorable, presented beautifully and explained clearly by each chef bringing them to our table. Even the octopus, which I am usually not a fan of, was outstanding.

Our place at the top of the chef's table also gave us a close-up look at the dedication put into crafting each dish. Plus, despite the restaurant being quite busy, it was nice to see the head chef taking time to clear plates so he can speak to guests and get their feedback.

Also a quick shout-out to the rest of the staff who were excellent throughout, especially in offering their knowledge of the wines on offer.

If you're unsure whether 15 moments would be too much, everything is perfectly portioned over the 3 hours you are likely to spend here.

Can't wait to return and wouldn't be surprised to see a Michelin star above the...

The food was absolutely amazing, every dish was full of flavor and beautifully presented. The atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and had a great vibe. However, there was one unfortunate moment: while our waiter was describing the wine, the entire bottle accidentally spilled all over us. The glass broke, and we ended up going home very sticky. Accidents happen, and the staff was kind, but we were surprised that nothing was taken off the bill, which left us with a bit of a bittersweet feeling after an otherwise wonderful evening. Still, the experience overall was great, and we’d definitely recommend.

Review by Aniela, and just saying,- the food wasn’t the only thing that looked good. The entire staff? Absolutely stunning. Like, distractingly...

The restaurant has a very nice interior and vibe to it, simple, clean, and elegant. The staff was expected polite, helpful, and considerate. Some of the people on my table left in the middle of the evening since they were tired from the day travels and the staff seemed worried, but we assured them all was good at the restaurant and it was just us being tired. The food we had was part of their tasting menu. It was tasty overall with little exceptions, such as the duck breast, which felt a bit plain. The food was coming very slow. I stayed there for about 4 hours (from 21:40 to 1:20), but if I was eating slower like the rest of the guests, I feel I would have been there much longer. Overall, it is a good experience worth having.

A fantastic journey through the 10 courses (moments) of this tasting menu + wine pairings. We were there on a quiet night and because we were a party of 6, chose to eat at a table but if you are are a party of 2-4, sitting at the bar in front of the chefs & the kitchen would be ideal. The food is simply incredible - every dish outstanding with some surprises. Service is really attentive. Wine pairings, available for all but two courses were also great and the the sommelier introduces and explains each one, (although no wine with the bread course - What Would Jesus Do?) Yes, it's a journey north of the city but it's worth the Uber and feels like it's only going to get harder to get a table at this amazing place.
