A Hidden Italian Gem in the Heart of Porto
Incontro Bistrot is nothing short of a revelation. This small restaurant, nestled in the old town of Porto, perfectly captures the essence of Italian culinary excellence. Having enjoyed many meals in Italy itself, I can confidently say that the dining experience here rivals — and perhaps even surpasses — the best I’ve had in the country.
The presentation of the dishes is an art form in itself, combining originality and elegance. The service is impeccable, with a perfect balance of professionalism, warmth, and attentiveness. As for the quality of the ingredients, it is simply extraordinary — every bite bursts with authenticity and freshness.
The Prosecco I ordered, an exceptional champagne-taste, was the perfect complement to this remarkable meal. Among the highlights, I strongly recommend the skewers, the homemade pesto pasta — a masterpiece of simplicity and flavor — and, to conclude, the Mini Incontro dessert. This dessert is a symphony of authentic, natural flavors and is utterly flawless.
My visit to Incontro Bistrot only confirmed my intuition. Drawn in by the understated charm of the exterior, I trusted my instincts, and they did not disappoint. I left not only satisfied but truly impressed.

We came to dine with our toddler age daughter and they were very welcoming to her with a high chair, child-safe cutlery/plates/cups and some toys and books to entertain her while we waited for the food to be prepared.
I highly recommend you get a reservation because the place is small and fills up very quickly, within just a few minutes of opening for dinner service.
Oh, and their tiramisu is absolutely amazing. You can get a flight of 3 small sized tiramisus to try their different options. We tried pistachio, caramel, and Nutella. All were amazing but pistachio was the best--if you can only have one, have the pistachio.
If we lived here, we would dine here regularly, but sadly we do not. Maybe again if we come...
Read moreIncontro Bistrot serves up an authentic Italian dining experience that's simply divine. From the moment I tasted their Bruschetta, I knew I was in for a treat. Even as someone who's not usually keen on tomatoes, the flavor was mind-blowing, perfectly balanced with the right amount of freshness and tanginess. The Pasta Amatriciana stole the show with its mouth-watering blend of flavors. The sweetness of the tomato sauce harmonized beautifully with the salty richness of the ham, creating a culinary masterpiece. And let's not forget about the pasta itself - cooked to perfection, each bite a symphony of flavors and textures. Although I unfortunately missed out on trying their desserts, they looked just as exceptional and I can't wait to try them next time. Incontro Bistrot truly delivers an unforgettable Italian dining experience in a cozy atmosphere with friendly people in one of Portos...
