Mo House, Alojamento Local — Hotel in Porto

Great stay! Hope to be back! This hotel was our first encounter with Portugal. What a joy! Beautiful rooms in an ancient restored building. Spacious clean and beautifully designed room, with unbelievable view. The location is superb. And the fact that this is a great room to sit in, relax with a book, put your feet up for sometime before you go out again - that means a lot. We simply loved it. Our room was equipped with a bath tub, and a kitchenette (stove, microwave, small refrigerator, dishes). Our friends' room, no. 3 was the same, only with a shower and not a bath. Then, there's the breakfast. A decent breakfast buffet, serving eggs and coffee per visitors request, offering fresh bakes, fruit, yogurt, jams, cheese and ham... Staff was super friendly and helpful. The whole place makes you smile. Just so I won't be suspected to be biased - there are a couple of things I would comment on: First, the place is relatively recently opened, and they lack storage furniture like drawers or shelves. The other thing is - the wooden floors are the original ancient flooring of the building. We were awaken very early one morning by the people above us walking to and fro for more than an hour making lots of noise with heavy steps on the floor. Not sure they were aware of just how much noise they were making. But other than this incident the place is very quiet and pleasant. We did not need the air conditioning - though...

When we arrived Sebastian Ricardo greeted us. He was very welcoming and funny gentleman. He provided great instructions of how to get into the building, breakfast hours, WiFi password and etc. when I say this guy goes above and beyond he truly did for me. I happened to travel with a stuffed Luka doll as a joke but I’ve taken him with me to other trips so it truly means a lot of me as a basketball fan. We stayed there for about 4 days and rushed to leave to head back to Porto. I didn’t fully check the bed as I usually do and happened to leave Luka behind. The cleaning lady sent him a message asap to let us know it was left behind. He reached out to us asap. Keep in mind this is a Sunday and had arrived Wednesday. We asked if he can ship him to Lisbon as that was our next destination. Delivery places are closed on Sunday and went on Monday after work to get my pricing. He truly is a kind young man that went way over above and beyond. This is what you call a memorable customer service as he knew how much it meant to me. I have never been treated so well in another country. I made sure I sent extra money for his time and convenience and over the unforgettable experience he provided to me and my friends! Mo House you have a wonderful employee and provide an exceptional service. I highly recommend booking here...

The room we stayed was so brilliantly renovated that we can only marvel at the sense and creativity of the owners. It was a wonderful and exciting experience as if we were in a luxury hotel. Diana was very quick to respond and caring in leaving handwritten notes with restaurant recommendations. When we met her at the reception she was friendly and energetic, and I thought that she is one of the persons who made this house a wonderful place to stay. The fact that breakfast is included is also highly appreciated. All the bread was amazingly delicious and it was nice that there was hot milk. The only slight requests for improvement would be that it would have been nice to have hot dishes like scrambled eggs for breakfast and that it would've been useful if the front door of the guesthouse had a handle as it was a bit difficult to close properly. I would wholeheartedly recommend this...
