KIMCHI — Restaurant in Porto

I am a Korean traveling Portugal. I was so looking forward to this place.

What a disappointment of the foods! The cook is not even a Korean. I had a Bibimbap. The basic of fundamental rice was mush because too much water while it was cooking. The texture of the rice was really bad. Raw sliced cabbages on it, Bulgogie was not quite there for the flavor. The taste was funny to my palette. The gochujang sauce was a bit off as well. We walked out of the place, barely eating and paid. This is NOT Korean foods, maybe something else. They shouldn'tbe running their business as representing Korean foods. They should name it something else. The cook is South East Asian. Apparently, he learned from a Korean. He should know how to cook rice. It ruined my day and my partner. Even my partner cooks rice better than that. I learned Western foods by myself, and I cook well, Italian a d French cuisine.

I DO NOT understand all the high ratings of others. I missed who's rating. I should read the two Koreans reviewed. Free world, go ahead if you like it. But if you are looking for Korean foods, this isn't it.

If you want Korean foods, please go to Han Table Grill on Gaia on the river. They are amazing.

I know you, the owner or the cook will defend yourself on my review. But please be honest, you are NOT selling Korean foods. You are degrading authentic Korean cuisines what it supposed to be. Even Korean fusion foods are not like yours. I DO NOT know what you should call your foods. NOT...

My Partner and I are visiting Porto for the week and we came across this Korean place and enjoyed it very much. What started as a quick nice meal turned out to be a very good (one of the best even) Korean meals we ever had. Not only that but the service was very nice and we had a good conversation with one of the people who work there, who was very kind and helpfull. It also seems some of the locals and neighbours also eat and meet there together often, we even got into a conversation with them and they gave us some helpfull tips and made the atmosphere and experience of the restaurant and area even better!

A really cool restaurant, very nice interior with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Great service from everyone we interacted with. I had the bibimbap which was a generous serving which I was so full I couldn’t finish it. We also tried the tuna kimbap which was a delicious starter and had just the right amount of everything (although I’m no expert). And finally a ramen which was spicy but once again a generous serving.
