Biscaia.Tomar — Restaurant in Tomar

Stopped in on a rainy day and caught a lunch. Looked like the pulled pork was what everyone was talking about so I went with that and my wife had the Bismistica salad. The salad was absolutely scrumptious and we both dove in quickly. It was well put together and nicely dressed out. Great combinations of greens, avocados, seeds, and cheese. I chose the bisspecial with pulled pork, sheep cheese and pumpkin spread. It also came with some Iberian ham which was not listed. The roll was great but these flavors just didn’t work for us. The first bite was off and it didn’t get better. The roll was the star of this sandwich. Anyway, service was good and if I went back I’d try the plain one to taste the pork....

Lovely outside area. Inside is brand new and lovely. Owner is a peach. Really excellent bites. Open all day but closes at 9pm. Great meeting spot. We will be back. Definitely want to try the salad and so many other options… Homemade potato chips! So good :)

EDIT: PULLED PORK sandwiches with sheep cheese. Good size portions. They are open every day but Sunday. I’ve come 20 more times since I reviewed. Consistently excellent. Great seasonal salads. Always clean bathroom. Always friendly and attentive service.

Passing through after seeing Convent of Christ and learning of the Knights Templar; we stopped in for a quick lunch. Deciding to eating inside, we were shuffled into another room that was filled with our shipmates from our cruise line. But service was super fast and efficient and the portions were generous for the price (under 6 euros for a sandwich). Our total bill was $18.40 euros for two sandwiches, chips, Coca-cola and a sangria. A great find for anyone...
