The room was small but clean and sufficient, comfortable bed, clean and compact shower and a handy fridge although we did miss having a kettle and tea or coffee making. The breakfast was good although only coffee available. Buffet style breakfast with lovely fresh fruit and nice start to the day. There is no on street parking but if you go just up the hill there is a public car park, get your ticket and take to the nice man in the office on the second floor by the exit he will give you a tourist rate ticket which means a 3 euro stay rather than the 16 euro charge we had the first night before we worked out the system. On the subject of transport do make sure you have a credit card to use with the hire car, otherwise they cant charge you for the road tolls and end up with the car hire company trying to give you...
Read moreMy husband and I had booked our night in Tomar with a different Hotel but were informed by e-mail the week before that the hotel we had booked was under renovation and they had changed our reservation for another one of their hotels - the Cavaleiros de Christo. We parked on the street in front of the hotel and were shown to our room. It was at best a 2 star hotel, the best I can say is it was clean. The bathroom was tiny with exposed pipes, the bed and the pillows were very poor quality||and not comfortable.
