This recent experience was, without a doubt, one of my absolute worst at Spice Market since its inception. What was once my beloved 'OG' brunch spot and go-to destination for high-quality brunches in town has now plummeted to an abysmal low. Frankly, I wouldn't recommend them to anyone anymore, and I find myself saying, 'I would never visit Spice Market ever if I had the choice.' We recently spent QAR 500 per person for a brunch, and the value for money was shockingly absent. A primary concern was the drink quality: the alcoholic beverages were so incredibly watered down that even after consuming ten drinks, we felt absolutely no effect. To be specific, their signature ginger margaritas, which I once enjoyed, now taste indistinguishable from a simple ginger lemonade – entirely devoid of any alcoholic kick. This is an unacceptable dilution, especially considering the premium price point. Beyond the beverages, the food quality has demonstrably gone downhill. What was once a vibrant and creative culinary experience has become bland and uninspired. The dishes have lost their originality and distinctiveness, failing to live up to the standard I've come to expect and appreciate from a W Hotel establishment. It's truly disappointing to see such a decline in what was once a hallmark of their offering. Adding to the frustration is the apparent lack of interest in their loyal patrons. As someone who has frequented Spice Market for years, I've noticed a significant drop in their willingness to accommodate reasonable requests. There's a palpable disinterest in ensuring customer satisfaction and meeting the needs of those who have supported them consistently. In summary, Spice Market has hit a new, unfortunate low. The combination of severely watered-down drinks, a significant degradation in food quality and creativity, and a seemingly indifferent attitude towards loyal customers is deeply concerning. It's genuinely sad to witness such a decline in a place that once set the bar for brunches in Doha. This experience genuinely puts the reputation of W...
Read moreOverall, our dining experience at the restaurant was quite enjoyable, primarily due to the excellent service and the quality of the food. The buffet was a delight, with a well-presented and delicious array of dishes. I must commend the Dim Sum & Gyoza station, which was a personal favorite, and the fresh seafood selection, featuring oysters, prawns, and crab, was a seafood lover's dream. Additionally, we were pleasantly surprised when a platter of sushi and sashimi was presented at our table with a captivating smoking effect, adding a unique touch to our meal. The service provided was prompt and efficient, with attentive staff ready to cater to our requests. However, there was one aspect that significantly marred our otherwise great experience: the music. At the beginning of our dining, the ambiance was serene, allowing for easy conversation and a pleasant dining experience. Yet, as the meal progressed, the music grew progressively louder and more fitting for an evening bar or even a disco, rather than an Asian restaurant. By the last hour of our meal (brunch hours were from 12 to 4 pm), the volume was so high that it became impossible to have a conversation without raising our voices to an uncomfortable level. When we approached one of the supervisors to express our concerns, we were informed that this was the establishment's signature style for Spice Market. However, this choice of music seemed incongruent with the overall atmosphere of the restaurant and its cuisine. In our opinion, such music would be better suited for a different setting, perhaps for a late afternoon at WBB or B12 on the weekend. In summary, the restaurant offers a delectable dining experience with a wide variety of flavorful dishes and commendable service. It's a shame that the jarring and overly loud music overshadowed what would otherwise have been a perfect outing. If you can tolerate the volume of the music, it's worth a visit for the food and...
Read moreRegrettable experience. I called to reserve exclusively on Wednesday, which is sushi night which is advertised everywhere. I told the person who answered the phone 3 times that it was for sushi night. I got there with great enthusiasm, and sat by the window. Our waiter comes and gives us the normal menu; I told him “we called exclusively for sushi night, I said it 3 times when booking”, “ah, I'm sorry to hear that” was his response. He wanted to sell us a cocktail which we didn't fancy but he insisted. He seemed to change his attitude when we said no for the 4th time. We didn't want water either, but no one took our glasses and they just took up space. Suddenly plates and plates and plates start arriving and no one explained anything to us. We feel bad. Is it because we are not Arabs or English? Maybe there is discrimination here even though the money I spend is the same as them. Be careful if you are Hispanic. At one point, on the verge of crying, I told the waiter, can you at least give us the menu of what we are going to eat today? And I say on the verge of crying because I had waited a long time for this day to come to dinner here and this treatment seemed unacceptable to me. No one had given us the menu and they gave us 1 for 2 people! More dishes and more dishes arriving at the table and although 4 people came to ask if the food was good, we had not even had time to try anything. There was no tact, but I suspect that here some people's money is worth more than others'. The only one who explained the menu to us was an Asian guy who we only met once. The food is exceptional but they were literally kicking us off the table and the restaurant was empty. Then they brought us 3 desserts instead of 2 and we spent 30 minutes waiting for someone to ask us if we had finished eating when it was obvious that we had finished a long time ago. The worst experience I have had in Doha in...
