We recently dined at SORA Restaurant in Park Hyatt. While the ambiance was impressive, the experience fell short in several areas. • Drinks: The cocktails lacked a noticeable alcohol presence, which was disappointing. • Service: The service was average, but the timing of food delivery was a major issue. • Food Delivery: We ordered a set menu and some à la carte dishes. After receiving the appetizer from the set menu, I informed the waiter to prepare the second course (sushi). Unfortunately, we waited nearly an hour for it. This delay caused us to lose our appetite and detracted significantly from the overall experience. • Compensation: I was a bit offended by the compensation offered. While the waiter brought extra sushi in an effort to make up for the delay, we didn’t need additional food—we simply wanted the courses served in a timely manner. The suggestion to take the food out felt inappropriate, as sushi is best enjoyed fresh at the table. • Management Oversight: There was no visible presence of a manager to address the situation. A lady who seemed to be the supervisor was moving around but didn’t appear to be aware of or engaged with the issues on the floor. No apology or acknowledgment of the poor experience was offered.
While I appreciate the waiter’s effort to resolve the situation, it’s clear that better management, coordination, and sensitivity to guest concerns are needed to improve the...
Read moreMy wife and I visited Sora Rooftop for Suhoor on March 20th and had a lovely experience. We made a last-minute booking just an hour before arriving and were fortunate to get a table in the open-air seating area, which added to the relaxing ambiance.
The food selection was fantastic and very flavorful. However, despite being a Japanese restaurant, the Suhoor menu was mainly Arabic and Indian, with very few Japanese options like sushi. Service started off a bit slow around 9:15 PM when Suhoor began, as there was only one person setting up the entire outdoor area. That said, kudos to Rajesh—he managed everything single-handedly with a smile and great energy.
The dessert selection was limited, but the dates pudding was a standout and absolutely delicious. We also enjoyed Arabic coffee (ghawa), peppermint tea, and other beverages that were included in the Suhoor package. Shisha was available outdoors, adding to the relaxed vibe.
Overall, it was a very enjoyable and peaceful evening, and the value was excellent, especially since we used Entertainer’s BOGO offer. Would...
Read moreGreat views all around. And the food also looks good (perfect for snap and insta). Unfortunately I am sad to say that it fails in every other aspect.
Terrible food taste and quality. Prices are expensive and for that price you can easily find a better high end japanese restaurants in Doha.
Drinks (non alcoholic) and desserts are also not worthwhile. Like I mentioned great for taking photis only.
Last but not least, the reception staff were courteous on our way in and out, but I wish I could say he same for our waitress. She was rudely silent throughout the experience not even naming the dished as they were rolled out, which is wierd and unnatural. She barely spoke a word!
I was shocked to learn that the restaurant was operating for over a year I thought it whad newly opened and it was because of thee bad service and terrible food taste and quality.
I am sorry...
