I don't know why we hadn't visited this place before. I think this is one of the best museums I have ever been to and we have visited museums all over Europe.

First of all we have never head of Msheireb. We didn't know it was like a whole village or city. That place is massive and beautiful. As many other reviews stated there are hardly any people around. This makes for an even more serene environment. Everything also looks brand new. You can still smell the paint and wood and see them testing out the tram system which is mind blowing for any kids you have in tow.

The museum itself is spread across 4 buildings. There is no way you can absorb all the information in one go. You need at least 2 full days to get through everything. We were only able to do the 2nd house (which we stumbled across first) then about 80% of the 1st house which was the one that focused on Slavery.

Not only is it amazing how openly Qatar talks about it's history, it is quite breathtaking the technology they use to portray it. This museum is interactive, they use projections for everything, there are short documentaries shown in every little room. I don't think they could have done a better job with how they set this place up.

I encourage everyone, expat and especially Qataris to visit this museum. In the most fantastic presentations you learn about the history of this country and how the older generations toiled to make it what it is today. You walk away with a greater appreciation for the country of your birth or country of your residence and it helps you be more understand and tolerant to the different...

As a visitor to the Msheireb Museums in Qatar, I was truly captivated by the rich history and cultural heritage that the museums showcased. From the moment I stepped into the meticulously restored heritage houses that now house the museums, I was transported back in time to explore the traditional Qatari way of life.

The attention to detail in preserving and presenting Qatar's history was evident throughout the museums, with each exhibit offering a glimpse into different aspects of the country's past. From the history of Msheireb district itself to the traditions of Qatari architecture, craftsmanship, and daily life, I found myself immersed in a treasure trove of knowledge and insight.

One of the highlights of my visit was the interactive and engaging displays that brought the history to life. Whether it was listening to oral histories, watching multimedia presentations, or participating in hands-on activities, I felt like an active participant in unraveling the stories of Qatar's past. The knowledgeable staff were also on hand to provide additional information and answer any questions, enhancing the educational experience.

Overall, my visit to the Msheireb Museums was a delightful journey through Qatar's cultural heritage, offering a blend of tradition, innovation, and storytelling that left a lasting impression. I highly recommend the museums to anyone interested in exploring the rich tapestry of Qatari history and culture in a beautifully curated and...

The Msheireb Museums were a delight to visit, considering that they are not as well-known as Doha's blockbuster attractions like the Museum of Islamic Art and the Pearl. I was pleasantly surprised by the variety of exhibits and the lack of crowds. The museum compound consist of 4 restored historical buildings in the old heart of Doha (very close to Souq Waqif): 1) Radwani House - a traditional Qatari family house 2) Company House - exhibition on Qatar's oil history 3) Bin Jelmood House - exhibition on slavery, human rights and human diversity 4) Mohammed Bin Jassim House - exhibition on Msheireb, Doha's old district I recommend around half an hour for each building. Even if visiting in a hurry, the architecture of the 4 buildings is worth a quick look. All 4 buildings are admission-free, have air-conditioning and are equipped with washrooms. After visiting all 4 houses, I definitely had a better insight and appreciation of Qatar's history and culture.
