It was great! We arrived very early ( before 7:30am ) and never expected our room ( superior room double queen ) to be ready. But indeed the night manager was there to extend a very warm welcome and served us drinks and damp towels to freshen up , then proposed to show us another room if we were interested so we had a choice. So he brought us to view both---the one we originally booked and a one bedroom apartment in another building that he thought we might want to see. We found the latter more spacious and brighter and the affable manager immediately offered us a complimentary upgrade even before we made our decision. So we eventually went for the apartment and within minutes all our suitcases were brought up. The nice apartment has a living room cum a dining area , and a small balcony. There is an open kitchen with complimentary snacks and drinks in the fridge, plus assorted tea sachets and coffee capsules. Fresh bottled water replenished daily and it were the little things they put after housekeeping left that made the stay extra comfy e.g. the little book mark placed on one of our books, or extra velcro ties for our cables and chargers casually lying around the desk. The main bathroom is spacious with all the toiletries daily replenished while there is a separate toilet at one end. In the living room there is a nook with a desk and stationery, plus all the cables and cords for any type of phones and gadgets. We never had to ask for iron and ironing board because they were already provided, placed inside the wardrobe. The safe was not functioning properly ---failed to lock when we first checked in, but soon they sent some technician up and got it fixed the next day. Bedding is starched white , very clean and very white. Air con is at a comfy temperature although it was over 44C when we were there it was never too uncomfortably chilly.Concierge is pleasant and helpful and UBER taxis are convenient. There is a Harrods cafe just down the hotel pathway, a rough 3-4 minutes walk , plus other restaurants, cafes and ice cream parlours in the area. There is a Chinese restaurant that is under MO that boasts the best Chinese cuisine in Doha. The Souq Waqif is within walking distance, but the place only comes alive after 5pm when the sun is less scorching. In the day time hardly a soul is found on the streets. People just flock to malls. There in the souq you can find rows and rows of shops selling herbs and perfumes, clothes and shoes, as well as restaurants, cafes , grocery stores and souvenir shops. MO Doha is in a safe area even after midnight because at night there are security guards stationed at almost all street corners where the streets all link up and lead you back to the hotel. Doha people are friendly and nice , and Doha is a very disciplined and safe place so there is no problem for anyone , or specifically women , to venture out on their own any time of the day or night. MO Doha certainly has top security at every entrance and exit , the hotel is very clean and comfortable albeit the shower could be a bit more powerful. All in all, I would not hesitate to stay...

Me, my wife and our 5 month old baby thoroughly enjoyed our first family holiday at the Madarjn Oriental Doha.

Prior to going out there, we asked if they would provide a range of baby related items to avoid us having to carry additional luggage. The team were more than happy to accommodate our requests and our room was equipped with a baby sterilising machine, baby bath tub, nappy bin, cot, changing mat and even baby wipes! We can’t explain how easy this made our packing and reduce the stress of a first holiday with a new born.

To our pleasant surprise, on arrival, due to the availability, we were upgraded for free to a 2 bedroom apartment which was simply stunning. The rooms were fully catered with all the required items and the space was luxurious to be “home” for a week.

We would like to say a special thanks to Osman, Yana and Camilla at Mosaic who made sure our breakfast was delivered and enjoyed to the highest degree. Their morning smiles ensured the day got off to the best of starts.

In the guest relations team, Kenza, Isabel and Javier were simply excellent in dealing with the vast number requests we had. The WhatsApp business service is an exceptional use of the platform and one I highly recommend all high degree hotels should adopt.

In the south Tower pool Aqib and Mohammed were a pleasure to be around and we enjoyed spending time with them whilst enjoying our lazy afternoons.

Finally, all of the staff interaction was reflective of the management of the hotel. We therefore would like to thank Thomas the hotel manager who spent time with us and discussed ways in which his team can help. He has a great team there which he leads admirably.

All in all, we cannot recommend MO Doha enough. Situated in the excellent Msheireb region the hotel makes for a fantastic stay for those who want to explore Doha or enjoy some much needed rest! The location is a short taxi journey away from the hustle and bustle of the west Bay Area but also a short walk away from the traditional Souq Waqif area. This best of both worlds worked really well for us, especially with our...

Overall Summary: My stay at the Mandarin Oriental was, on the whole, highly enjoyable, marked by exceptionally high standards in hospitality and dining. However, I encountered a few operational inconsistencies and a specific service lapse from the Concierge team that prevented the experience from being truly flawless.

Highlights (Exceeded Expectations):

Dining & Service: The breakfast experience was truly great. A special commendation to our server, Adam, who was exceptionally kind and provided excellent service. The quality of the food was superb—specifically, the beef sausages were the best I have ever tasted in a hotel.

The Bar: The bar was fantastic, offering a lovely atmosphere and exceptional service. The Bar Manager was charming and a true asset to the hotel.

Areas for Improvement (Needs Attention):

Concierge Service & Proactivity (Key Concern): We felt the Concierge team did not demonstrate the "extra mile" service expected for a luxury establishment. When attempting to make reservations for our group, we were repeatedly advised that we could simply "walk in." For a group booking, this approach is insufficient and added unnecessary friction to our plans. Furthermore, the provided list of local recommendations was notably weak and lacked variety or detailed insight.

Housekeeping/Operational Inconsistency: On the day of check-out, I had to request that my room be cleaned three separate times, as it had not been automatically serviced or attended to after the initial request. This repeated follow-up on a basic amenity was disappointing and detracted from the final impression of the stay.

Poolside Service: We found the service by the pool to be very slow and not as attentive as the service experienced in other areas of the hotel, like the restaurant or bar.

Conclusion: While the culinary team and individuals like Adam and the Bar Manager provided five-star service, the consistency of the Concierge team and the operational lapse in housekeeping processes need immediate attention. I look forward to experiencing these improvements on a...

We will look back with fond memories of our time in Doha, not only because we were celebrating our wedding anniversary but because of our stay at the Mandarin Oriental who helped us make the most of the event with their kind thoughts and actions. It is without doubt an excellent first class hotel in an ideal location with an incredible mix of professional, friendly and attentive staff. Of special mention was Bianca at check in, Addib who meticulously looked after our room and the ever friendly Mahmoud who we met each day for my wife’s morning swim in the beautiful rooftop pool. Too numerous to mention were the breakfast staff who were all, without exception, friendly and attentive. The mix of great staff and excellent food made breakfast a great start to the day and something to look forward to. Our junior suite on the 7th floor had an incredible view of the iconic Doha skyline which looked fabulous by day and by night. The Msheireb district where the hotel is located is peaceful, upmarket and relaxing and having visited other areas of the city where 5 star hotels are located, I would say that the Mandarin Oriental has the edge location wise. It is within walking distance of Souq Wakif and the local metro station. Although taxis are not expensive in Doha the roads can get quite busy and we took great pleasure using the metro and tram system on a daily basis. It is absolutely spotless, air conditioned, WiFi friendly, very efficient and at 6 QAR (just over £1) for unlimited travel a day it is an absolute steal!! Msheireb station, close to the Mandarin Oriental is the only one on the network where all 3 lines intersect making it even more convenient for travelling. It’s a real fun experience and I highly recommend using it. To sum up, Doha is a great place to visit and the Mandarin Oriental is a first class hotel with excellent staff that will not disappoint. It will be sure to make your visit even more memorable. It certainly hit the spot with us.

Location wise good service is also good. Continental and asian food is fine. Sochi n laham majboos was good. BBQ was OK but need to add some core items. During aftar and sahoor big advantage is that Mosque is within premises so easily prayer can be performed.

The most impressive thing was the staff. every interaction with any staff member was perfect. Two a standard that I have never experienced before in any other five star hotel. Staff examples: Breakfast- Oussama, Kartik and Osman were so attentive it made us feel like we were the only ones there. The attention to detail eg making sure the MO flag was facing upwards in the cappucino each time. Concierge- oumaiyma was beyond helpful. She would make bookings for us everywhere and made great recommendations each day. We holidayed with our 18 month old baby, and she was treated like a princess with every staff member smiling, offering her gifts and playing respectfully with her. It made us feel really welcome. Breakfast: Again, never seen a spread like this, my wife, and I really like Chinese food and the opportunity to have an array of dim sum or freshly made noodles alongside local Arabic choices and à la cart menu was perfect. Food was fresh every day unbelievable how pastries were fresh and soft each morning. Perhaps a wider array of fresh juices or detox beverages for health. Conscious individuals would be my only suggestion. The building was also fresh and appeared very new and clean. Decor was modern and tasteful. That was never any rubbish no, was there ever a vase or painting not perfectly placed. Housekeeping was also great. The room size was also huge with separate sinks, large walk-in overhead shower, walking closet. And finally, we visited when it was my wife’s birthday, and they made a real effort with cards, cakes and gifts which made her feel really special. Don’t know how a future hotel could top this but it was a pretty perfect first experience at MO. Thank you to everyone. Please pass on my feedback to the named individuals above- they were consistently 10/10.
