I learned about this recently open restaurant from the Korean Food Course I'm taking at the moment. Must say that the service was incredible, the owners and staff were very helpful and client oriented. We ordered 1 appetizer (haemul pajeon), 3 dishes (yangnyeom chicken, bulgogi and jeyuk bokkeum) rice and beers (photos included). Be advised that the korean names for the dishes are a bit modified so that the romanians can spell them easier. While waiting for the food, the owner gave me a restaurant tour and I noticed the restaurant is bigger than it seems at first, with a shopping area and a private booth where a future karaoke station will be included.
The food started to arrive in 10 min and it was delicious, I really liked the haemul pajeon, which was filled with seafood. The rice was fluffy, the korean fried chicken was sweet, a bit crunchy and perfectly cooked. The bulgogi is also a must try! We also had complementary side dishes (banchan), which contained kimchi, oi kimchi and mayak gyeran and soy sauce for the pajeon. After we finished our meal, we received on the house what I think is gyeongdan, rice cakes filled with a nutty cream; these cakes are served in korean culture whenever there is a special occasion (this one being the first week of the restaurant opening).
For the kdrama lovers, Dami has a lot of the foods seen in famous kdramas, including tteokbokki and korean fried chicken. They also have korean bbq (Samgyeopsal) and it's definitely on my list for future visits.
Lastly, the prices where on pair with the quantity and quality of the food. Me and my partner paid 224 RONs for 4 dishes, 2 beers and 2 rice bowls, complimentary banchan included.
I will definitely come back...
Read moreThis was a pretty disappointing experience. I'm not happy to give such a low review, especially since the service was really good: the waiter was super sweet, not so attentive though.
However, the real disaster was the food following the 1 hour wait. We got the Bulgogi, which tasted just like fast food chinese food, with ok meat, but uncooked mushrooms and onions. My mother got the Tolmen, which were some jiggly noodles that got stuck in her throat, unfit for chewing or cutting. The "pear and cucumber" were incredibly thin pieces of both, and egg was hard-boiled and, well, dull. For such prices, I expected much more. I would never go back to this restaurant.
Not to mention I was cold...
Read moreWorth a shot Food was nice, not the most special but nice, prices are decent and the food arrived quickly. Went around 5pm on a Wednesday and it was just me and another table. Too bad the waiter was terrible. No manners, no "good afternoon" or anything, I would look at him and talk, and he wouldnt say a word, just looked back like I was the one serving him (part of the Romanian staff). Very very rude. Too bad because it ruins an otherwise decent experience. But ignoring this kind of people, its worth going, Im sure Ill go again to try some other stuff, my bulgogi (55 lei) was good, not too fancy, but enjoyed it. Hopefully getting served by...
