The cinema is OK and the (mostly European) movies are interesting BUT if you buy a 5-ticket subscription to Elvira Popescu you CANNOT reserve tickets to some of the movies... on the ground of them being "festival" movies... Eventbook (the seller of the subscriptions) says that Elvira Popescu limits the acces to poeple who buy such subscriptions. As a consequence, you're constrained to reserve other movies (you may not want to wacth) OR buy tickets directly from the cinema. Elvira Popescu redirected me to Eventbook, alleging that my subscription may be exprired (which is not the case)! Unfortunately, with the onset of the pandemic and all sorts of opening restrictions, the management of the place has lost somewhat control. The implementation of rules is grossly exaggerated to the frustration of the poor film-lover: everyone has to sit alone, with an empty seat in between, even if they are coming together, in a family, as a pair, etc. The visual announcements with the usual covid rules are aggressively put in a loop at loud volume, before the start of the film, which I personally found close to sound torture.... I hope the management of the place will change its operating rules within the given governmental restrictions, such that they are more humane...
Read moreThe most overrated cinema in Bucharest. The seats aren’t numbered and are super tiny. There’s not enough leg room, it feels like you’re on a flight. The screen is also too small, not a great movie watching experience. There are no safety lights during the projection when it’s pitch black.
Before entering the auditorium there’s a flood of people going in and out on a tight corridor. People were coming in 15 minutes after the movie started and kept turning their flashlights on to look for a seat…
