I am sad to write this review, but I had the most bitter experience at a restaurant in my life last Friday night. We had a table for six, we had food which was excellent like always when I go here. But the service was shockingly bad, a really bitter experience. We dined in, the first waiter had an arrogant attitude every time, but we ignored this, the food came on time and was good, at the end we had a bill of approx. 160 euros - 800 lei and we paid by card because no one had cash. We were a little woozy from the wine and forgot to tell the waiter to put the tips on the card bill, the waiter didn't ask us if he can put the tip on the card bill, then he brought the bill and POS, we paid and left with good vibes. We stopped in front of the restaurant to talk a little while waiting for the Uber. In the meantime a different waiter approached us with the paper bill in his hand, flashing it to us and asked us if we had a good time. We said yes, of course, then the waiter said that there is a problem and repeated we have a problem 2 times, while he was flashing the bill and I repeat, we were in front of the restaurant outside. Then a friend gave him what cash he had on him for the tip and the waiter said he cannot take the money hand, that my friend needs to go inside and leave it on the table. He got inside, left the cash and came back outside. Of course the cash was not enough, we knew that, but we gave him something that we have on hand just to get rid of his begging. While still waiting for Uber, the waiter came back and gave the money back and left. This whole experience was outrageous and it never happened to me before at any restaurant in my whole life. We would have left the tip with pleasure if they had billed it on the card, with no remorse.
I want you to know that you are not good for your job, the waiter that came in front of the restaurant. I have worked in HORECA and I never have done a thing like this. Also, this was one of my favorite restaurants, I have been coming here for at least 3 years, always recommending it to friends and business collaborators. It is sad that I have to give this review and that I will never come back here. The Chefs make very good food and the taste is always the same, they are constant in what they make. But the service is very disturbing and disappointing on the waiters service side. Bye bye Pizza Mania, I think you should pay your employees better or hire...
Read moreHave only bought takeaway from here, so I am not reviewing the ambiance or service. For the pizza though, it deserves a 5-star rating. The dough is thin and clearly wood-fire oven baked and it beautifully puffs up at the crust. They do use a bit too much mozarella for my liking, so the pizza tends to collapse in the center, but that's a small detail. Overall it's the closest pizza that I've had in Bucharest to something you'd get in Italy. I highly recommend going for Pizza One - the classic margherita. The other types are cooked on the same great dough, but in my opinion the toppings take away from the simple pizza experience rather than enhancing it. If you're not after italian-style pizza and want a thicker dough and more toppings, I would go elsewhere. P. S. If you want to order takeout, I recommend picking it up yourself. If you order through a delivery app, the pizza often arrives cold. I think it's because the dough is so thin, that all it takes is a 10-min ride by the courier and the pizza will already...
Read moreI really enjoyed the pizza here. I’m docking a star only because the selection of pizzas is limited and the toppings can be a little odd. As a result, I went for a plain Jane hot sausage pizza, but it was really good. At 38 RON, it’s arguably a bit expensive. Wines were 20 RON each.
Service was pretty good. The patio is nice.
On another visit, I had the carbonara, which is one of the few places that does it authentically with guanciale (I think; like pancetta but not smoky), egg, cheese, no cream. It was excellent.
The only disappointment is the focaccia, which was thick and puffy but sliced thinly so there isn’t much of the seasoned salty top for each slice. I’m not used to focaccia being sliced so thinly and it does the bread...
