I was here night of 29 September, looking for a quick place to chill and a light dinner before making plans for Brasovian nightlife (I decided upon the night plans).
I arrived, not expecting much, aside from reading many good reviews about this establishment online. Like in all Romanian establishments, I found an empty table, took a menu, and sat down. It was a pretty difficult decision for me as I did not plan on eating at a cafe on my trip, as I was more keen on trying Romanian local cuisine, however, knowing how heavy that is, I knew I had to eat something light, thus my dilemma.
Nevertheless, after a few long minutes of me trying to make a decision, being stubborn and trying to decipher Romanian, and telling the waiter who has then come by once or twice, I decided to ask for an English menu. The kind male waiter (he looks like a student), gave one to me, and I decided to ask him for a recommendation. He was very patient and willing to describe to me the different types of sandwiches they had, I think they had croissant, paninis, sandwiches, etc, and I asked him for his favorites.
I think it really did take a while (probably 3 minutes-ish) as I could not make up my mind, however, at last I did decide to get a sandwich and a coffee. I then informed him that I would like to sit outside despite the cold winds as it was getting a bit too cozy and warm inside, and also because I wanted to people watch as I was traveling alone.
The food came and it was a prosciutto panini that was larger than I expected and plated attractively. It looked delectable, and it tasted the same. I was impressed, suffice to say. Did I mention the coffee I ordered came in a plate with a small cookie and a glass of still water? I think value and plating are the first things most look out for, and I was indeed impressed. I can't exactly remember how the coffee tasted right now, but I remember being impressed, thinking it was really good, and already trying to play around my plans for tomorrow so I can stop by for my morning coffee fix, as well as one more for the night. That was how good it was, no kidding. It was also very value for money, as I did not expect the meal (both sandwich and coffee) to be of this high quality and standard at such an affordable price.
Also, the service was very friendly, attentive and great. Props to the 2 staff that served me, the young gentleman and lady whom both look like local students. I definitely enjoyed my visits and if I were working remotely in Brasov, trust me I would pay this place a...
Read moreA very nice place but it has to be said that the female waiting staff are excellent while some of the males let the place down.
We had a nice brunch there and perfect service from the young lady serving us so went back for drinks in the evening.
There was a different waitress who was also excellent but when she left the customer attention left with her.
The young man with his hair tied up seemed to spend most of the evening behind the bar hanging out with his bro (with the beard and baseball cap).
We eventually managed to get his attention and he banged a bottle of beer on the table with a grunt.
I like the relaxed vibe but if he'd been any more laid back, you'd have had to check him for a pulse.
Perhaps we should be grateful that the management seem happy for customers to sit in their place without buying anything so that some of their staff can enjoy chatting while they wait for the place to empty.
Looking at the management responses to every negative comment here, it seems that's...
Read moreIt is a wonderful place to sea and have a drink or something to eat. The coffee was awesome, the food was delicious and the service was really good. We had a cappucino , an espresso, a fresh with wild berries (which was awesome, it didn't have more water than berries, it was thicker and delicious) we had club avocado sandwich ( it was delicious they use a nice bread made with Maia and the combination of avocado and vegetables it was a awesome and delicious combination) which is great for vegetarians, vegans or whoever looks for an healthy type of food and the (I hope not mistaken) a salty breakfast plate , all these were really delicious and I am a very picky person. The location of this place is close to the Black Church in the center area and you can walk on foot around , I believe it's worth...
