While looking for a place to sit, work, and enjoy brunch, a friend and I stumbled upon this spot. The intriguing entrance caught our attention, and the menu sealed the deal. Once inside, we were warmly welcomed into a cozy environment with warm lighting, soft music, and an inviting atmosphere. We ordered two cappuccinos, and I chose the “EggVocado” (300g) for 39 Lei. This dish consisted of bread, avocado, tomatoes, red onion, basil oil, poached eggs, hollandaise sauce, arugula, and cherry tomatoes (translated via my phone). The cappuccino was priced at 14 Lei.
The coffee stood out. It had an exotic, bold flavor that lingered delightfully, something I particularly appreciate in a cappuccino, where the bean’s character often fades. This choice of bean brought a unique, satisfying depth to the cup. The meal itself was exceptional. The poached eggs were perfectly cooked, with the yolks flowing just right. The bread was a revelation, crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, maintaining its integrity under the toppings, which is no small feat. Despite being loaded with ingredients, it avoided becoming soggy, which shows excellent attention to detail by the kitchen. Hats off to the team, they clearly know what they are doing. I would happily return in the future.
Room for improvement: The lighting was quite warm and took some getting used to, though this is highly subjective. As a tourist, I noticed there wasn’t an English menu, though I understand if the focus is on locals. Additionally, the side salad, while appreciated, felt a little underwhelming. The lettuce was slightly bitter and could benefit from a simple dressing like an oil-lemon-salt mix or any other one the kitchen deems fit, to complement the main...
Read moreI probably wouldn’t recommend this place at this point. The waiting times were too long, and the food was just average.
That said, I really like the concept — a bar that serves all kinds of eggs (isn’t that cool?) with fun puns like Eggstra and TeabEggs. The possibility of having a buzzy brunch is always a plus for me. The interior is nice, and the staff were kind and welcoming.
However, maybe because of all this I had high expectations — and I was disappointed. We waited 45 minutes for our order, and we didn’t order anything complicated, just sandwiches/eggs. When the food finally arrived, even though we were quite hungry, we didn’t enjoy it as much. The flavors were too simple, lacking sauces and fancy presentation. They aimed high with cooking fancy poached eggs sandwiches (so popular in European brunch places), but the goal seemed to be a bit too ambitious for them. The most tasty dish was regular mushrooms omelette.
They definitely have potential, but there’s still a lot of...
