A Disappointing Experience Hidden Behind a Pleasant Atmosphere
When we first entered the restaurant, we were welcomed by a truly charming atmosphere accompanied by live music – warm, inviting, and full of promise. Sadly, everything that followed fell far below our expectations.
Our first issue arose from the heavy cigarette smoke surrounding our assigned table. When we politely asked if we could change seats, we were met with a cold and somewhat rude response from the staff, essentially implying, “This is your only option – take it or leave it.”
Later, we mentioned that we do not eat pork and asked for suitable recommendations. The response we received was shockingly unprofessional and dismissive: “You don’t eat pork? Then there’s not much you can eat here anyway.” It felt both condescending and completely lacking in hospitality.
When we asked for dish suggestions, the staff gave us short, uninterested answers, as if serving us was a burden. There was absolutely no sense of genuine hospitality.
Once our meals arrived, the food was disappointingly average. Aside from the fried stuffed peppers, there was nothing distinctive or flavorful enough to set this restaurant apart.
But the most unsettling moment came after we finished our main courses. While we were still enjoying our appetizers – and had not yet finished them – they were abruptly taken away without a word. It became clear that the restaurant's priority was rapid table turnover rather than guest satisfaction.
We had planned to spend the evening enjoying good music and a relaxing dinner. Unfortunately, the poor and impersonal service made that impossible.
The following day, we were hesitant to try another restaurant, afraid we might have a similar experience. To our relief, the next place we visited felt like stepping from the Stone Age into the Modern Era – a stark contrast in every way.
This experience was a strong reminder that no matter how beautiful the setting, it means very little without genuine hospitality. Service is everything – and in this case, it made all...
Read moreKeep away from this place! I can’t remember the last time I had such an awful experience. Let me start with the worst part: the service. It was shameful and completely unprofessional. The staff ignored us repeatedly and had no patience when it came to serving us.
Now for the second issue—live music. While other rooms in the (very large) restaurant had nice, relatively quiet live bands playing, our room was a different story. A private group had an event, and their band never stopped playing—loudly and without any consideration for the other guests in the room. It gave us a headache. I asked the host to move us to another room, but he told us that ours was the one reserved for people who didn’t book in advance. The problem is—I did book in advance! And yet, we were seated there anyway.
As for the food—the fish we ordered was cold and dry. When we asked the waiter for a red wine recommendation by the glass (not a bottle), he rolled his eyes and said there were no recommendations. At that point, all we wanted was to pay and leave. Even getting the bill took forever, with multiple follow-ups.
We ran into a group of friends there who had a similarly bad experience. I usually don’t write negative reviews and prefer to let things go, but this time I felt the need to share my personal experience. I came to this place based on all the amazing reviews, and I just want to help others make a more...

Tonight, my husband and I dined at Tri Šešira, a restaurant recommended by our tour guide, located on a charming cobblestone street in Belgrade's Bohemian quarter. I should have heeded the mixed reviews, which mostly warned of poor service and attitude.
Upon arrival, we waited about 10 minutes before a waiter, Dejan,.P acknowledged us. When he finally approached, he threw the menus on the table without making any eye contact. After another 10-minute wait, we finally ordered wine , and the deep-sea perch, which was supposed to come with potatoes and vegetables. When the food arrived, there were no vegetables, the potatoes were cold, and the perch was tough as leather. I guess that’s a lesson learned about ordering a deep sea fish in a land locked country!!
When I commented on my food being cold and inedible, Dejan P arrogantly replied that he wasn’t responsible for the kitchen. I responded, "You are the front man and need to report back to the kitchen." He offered no apologies or another meal, just hovered over the credit card machine to take our payment, ready for the next customer.
My advice: avoid Tri Šešira. The food was subpar, the service was abysmal, and the local band playing did nothing to salvage the experience. Save your time and money, and find a less commercial more reputable spot to dine in...
