Me and my partner ordered vegetarian food from the menu and was very disappointed. The spring rolls had no seasoning and the filling seemed to consist of only shredded cabbage and carrots. The dipping sauces were poor as well. We then decided to stay because if the main course was better then we wouldn't complain. Unfortunately my partner recieved a bland bowl of noodles. Which contained 90% broth which again had little flavour. I ordered the Tofu Thai green curry and it had the consistency of a risotto and was made up of the same basic mix of shredded cabbage and carrots with a slimey uncooked tofu.
We decided to not continue eating the main course after a couple of tastes and explain to the waiter that we would only pay for the starter and not the main as we were not happy with the meal. He seemed to be acting strangely and was very impolite, he walked inside without an answer. There he made us wait until we came inside to sort out the issue. Inside the empty restaurant him and his heavily tattooed intimadating colleague shouted abuse at us and demanded payment for the whole meal. Although feeling quite scared we declined. Then the bar man paced up and down with rage making us feel more scared. They told us to get out and not come back.
I have traveled south east Asia extensively and believe they should try more authentic Asian food to understand the complex flavours and textures before serving this to the public. This bad review could of been avoided if the staff acted more professionally.
I wouldn't advise...
Read moreWent here last night for dinner. The place takes reservations. It wasn't empty so I think you could get by without a reservation. I really appreciated that they have a non-smoking section which actually makes sense: it's physically separated from the smoking section. The unfortunate circumstance is that the non-smoking section is in the back, so feels slightly isolated. Still, felt good considering other Belgrade restaurants. The service was truly good, they have a few young, kind, and genuinely nice people working there, who made our evening great. It was three of us and we decided to go with small bites, and try as many dishes as we could. We took six different things: dumplings, wantons, mango salad, crab balls, summer rolls. Everything was delicious, but also the staff was kind enough to help us pick. This was my first time in a Vietnamese restaurant in Serbia, so I don't know much about the authenticity of the flavors. However, I found this dinner to be very refreshing, I tasted flavors unlike before, and I thought some dishes were on the healthier spectrum, and not too salty, which I liked. We ended up with the dessert, spliting fried ice cream (delicious), and mango caramel (too sweet). All of this, plus a cocktail each, ended up being less than EUR 20 per person. The interior was pleasant and felt like they tried to bring the calm of the east to a busy Belgrade. All in all, there's nothing not to like, therefore I gave it 5 stars. However, you should go to this place expecting just normal,...
Read moreFood was really nothing special. What bugged me was techno music blaring from speakers in an asian restaurant and in general a restaurant , as a restaurant as a place needs relaxing atmosphere.
The very next bad thing is unprofessionalism of the stuff. Not knowing how to behave, how to recommend or what to recommend, acting puzzled when I ask something. She d just bring the food, put it in gront of me and leave although I said this is my first time in this type of restaurant and that I didnt have any type of korean/vietnamese food before. She just smiled uncomfortably and left. In the end just took the money, didnt even ask about the experience and say See ya like we are long time friends. Not to mention that instead of letting me have food in peace she was looking at me every two minutes from the corner, like I am a thief or something, to gaudge when to bring the next course. Which made me unrelaxed, unwelcome, I flt like I should slurp all at once like a speedy Gonzales and leave. Even in a fast food place they wont treat a customer like this.
And now about the design of the restaurant....bathroom besides the kitchen? Kitchen keeping their door open besides the bathrooms? Very hygenic.
In overall very bad experience, I say that as someone who works in hospitality industry for the last 20 years and expect a good experience when going somewhere.
I hope whoever the owners are, that they are going to change things for the better...
