The food overall was tasty and nicely presented. However, when we received the bill, we were unpleasantly surprised. We came for Valentine's day dinner, they were not offering their classic menu, but a single Valentine's formula for everyone. The card on the table said that it's 80 euros for 2 people, including: aperitive Prosecco, 2 starters, main dish and a dessert. However, in the card they forgot to mention that it only includes 2 glasses of prosecco. So entire dinner waiters were serving and offering more prosecco to customers and fulfilling glasses. We also didn't receive any other menu of drinks to choose from. So we decided, like every other client, that if it's the only drink that is included to a formula, so let it be. At the end, we received a bill of 105 euros instead of mentioned 80€. Because they counted each additional prosecco glass in addition to 80 euros formula. Once again, the price of it wasn't mentioned anywhere, neither written on the card. So we assumed that it's included in the formula(like any other person did). So it spoiled our dinner a lot. Will not go to this place again. Advice for the future: make clear menu, saying that formula includes only 1 drink, and if you offer client extra drink at least warn them that it will...

Today's visit to your restaurant unfortunately ruined our wedding anniversary celebration. Although the food was excellent, the behavior of the waitstaff was unacceptable. They were arrogant and showed no interest in our satisfaction.

Even though the closing time was 1.5 hours later, they started packing up the terrace around us, including part of our table, when we wanted to enjoy the nice food of the chef. The lighting on the terrace was very dim, and when we asked to have it turned on, the waiter responded that they didn't feel like it today. We were forced to eat in near darkness, which significantly disrupted the experience.

This evening was a great disappointment for us. When we refused to leave a tip, the waiter showed surprise, which only highlighted their lack of professional approach.

After we left, we contacted the manager, who apologized for the staff's behavior, which we appreciated. Despite this, our disappointment remains. The restaurant should consider improving its customer service to prevent similar situations in the future. For these reasons, we do not intend to return, either privately or with...

Premise: I’m Italian.

We were “welcomed” into a completely empty restaurant, and that alone should have been a warning sign. But we decided to give it a chance. After 15 minutes of waiting (we were the only customers), someone finally bothered to take our order.

Then the food arrived. That’s when we realized that the chef must have a serious fear of vampires, because every single dish — from the pizza to the meat, even the bread — was absolutely drenched in garlic. Not a touch, not a hint: a flood.

The only positive side? We couldn’t stop laughing throughout the meal, because it was such a surreal and disastrous experience. Still, we thank the chef for his concern about our safety from vampires, but really, a few garlic cloves hanging by the door would have been enough.

One last piece of advice, free but valuable: a smile, a bit of warmth, and less time on the phone would be a good start for anyone presenting themselves as a “luxurious” restaurant.

Oh, and by the way: prices worthy of a Michelin star, quality worthy of...

An absolute nightmare — never stepping foot here again. We stumbled upon this place by accident and regretted it with the very first bite. Everything, I mean everything, screamed garlic: potatoes, pizza, bread, meat… it was relentless. The meat, supposedly medium, arrived well-done, chewy, and with a bizarre, unpleasant flavor. The pizza? Undoubtedly inedible. Even the sides were ruined by the same overpowering garlic assault. The restaurant was literally empty, and we had to wait at least 15 minutes just to place our order. And the bill? Outrageously high, as if we’d eaten at a top-tier restaurant — when in reality, it was one of the worst meals of our lives. If you enjoy tasting garlic in every conceivable form while paying a premium for misery, this is the place for you.

I received a 50€ gift card for Au Cafe on Christmas and went to try it out today. Overall, it was really good! I ordered a shrimp appetizer and a spaghetti aglio olio (the classic one with chili) and a baked pear brownie for dessert. No complaints! Flavours were good, portion sizes were on the "fancy" side, and presentation was too notch. 🍝 The service was amazing. Took my coat, brought out a carafe of water, and bread. The overall ambiance was nice. No loud music, great view of Bratislava, and white tablecloths throughout. I think this is a great "special occassion" restaurant and would definitely come back.

Aucafe is one of the most beautiful spots to sit by the Danube in Bratislava. Besides the delicious food, we enjoyed a stunning sunset with a lovely river view, which made the whole evening feel perfect. We had the asparagus risotto — creamy and full of flavour — and spaghetti with prawns — fresh and perfectly seasoned. To top it off, a refreshing gin & tonic with cucumber was the ideal drink for a summer evening by the water. Friendly staff and the beautiful setting make Aucafe a place we’re always happy to come back to!
