This hotel does a curious thing. They send an email with a questionnaire asking you about your stay and then at the end they pre-fill a Trip Advisor template with the review that they want you to leave. Pretty bold of them because having parsed my questionnaire responses they determined that my Trip Advisor review should be 2/5. I cannot fault their honesty. Were it my hotel and a guest's questionnaire rating were less than average I probably would design the logic to not invite them to share my review with other people via a third party review site.
Actually design and logic are the reasons that this hotel did not really appeal to me. It felt like Grok has designed this hotel. It has been given a prompt but what with Grok not being human, it has screwed up the execution.
As if Grok has been asked to design a hotel space that is good for sleeping and working. The room is spacious, it has a comfortable bed and a desk, with a lamp, and a power outlet. Except the desk is about 10cm too skinny and the hotel does not really expect you to do any work because they do not give you a chair to sit on. Only the desk,
The first morning there I went to reception and asked for a chair, it was obvious I am not the first person to ask for a chair. I went out to a coffee shop to do some work on their tables and chairs.
Incidentally, the lobby area also does not have chairs and desks or tables that are suitable for work either. This hotel has some kind of chairphobia.
I came back, I asked again for a chair, and eventually it arrived. But why does this hotel not have a chair anyway? It just seems off to me, I have never been to a hotel where the issue is that you have nothing to sit on at the desk in the room.
Moving on to other design features that seem deliberately anti-hospitality. I have never really made use of a hotel wardrobe, but this hotel has nowhere flat and obvious to set down a suitcase, apart from the floor. There are no folding suitcase stands. I asked for one at reception and there are none in the whole hotel.
The receptionist did point out that I can put the suitcase in the base of the wardrobe. She was right, but being design-backwards, there was an ironing board with iron connected to it hanging in the wardrobe so that has to be removed in order to use the base. Also, I only had carry on luggage. If you have a full sized suitcase then there is definitely nowhere to put it.
I don't want to come across as being critical about everything, but even the room safe at this property managed to annoy me. Again it feels like it has been designed in a way that never tested it for ergonomics. The safe is installed below waist-height and has smaller buttons that any other hotel room safe, so you have to kneel down to be able to see the numbers you are keying in.
This hotel's reviews have plenty of comments about connecting doors. I wonder how many of the rooms have connecting doors, and what is the point in them? The hotel is not particularly old, do people really request connecting rooms nowadays? I do not know. What I do know is that a cheap door between one room and the next offers zero privacy. My room neighbours were noticeable the first three nights. The final night I got new neighbours that arrived at about 10pm, enthusiastically called their baby on speakerphone for 20 minutes, then listened to The Smiths on a bluetooth speaker until 1am. They woke up at 4am. I might as well have opened the connecting door and introduced myself, it was already like I was on vacation with them.
The hotel is not without any redeeming features. It has a nice location, I arrived from Bratislava bus terminal and left for Vienna, so being adjacent to Most SNP bus station was perfect for me. The hotel is a simple walk to anywhere in the centre.
It is normally the case that a newer hotel has less personality but more useable spaces. I would not stay here again. Bratislava old town seems to have plenty of hotels of character and I would chance staying in a different one the next time I...
Read moreFirst off I would like to say as many times I have come here on business, and although I could chose any Hotel in the city, I would not want to stay anywhere else but the Park Inn. When speaking of hospitality, it is this hotel that truly represents it! As many hotels as I have visited I have never felt more welcome and more at home than I have here, thank you for that. A couple facts before I get to the heart of the hotel:
Rooms: Always spotless clean, awesome view, decent interior Gym: Has all necessary equipment Restaurant: Great food, outstanding customer service Location: Great location (Oldtown)
Now to the heart of the Hotel!!!
What really makes this hotel is the staff!!! Their customer service skills are unmatched and I must say, whenever I come back to Bratislava I am always looking forward to seeing the great staff at the front desk. The always greet me with the warmest and most welcoming smiles, they are always accomodating, helpful, extremely friendly, and really go out of their way to ensure that you are having a great visit.
@Lucia Semedo is a doll, thank you for all that you do, for the countless taxi requests (she even remembers the destination of my address!!) thank you for your kindness and the kind gestures. Your professionalism and hospitality skills are unmatched. Thank you for always greeting us with the warmest smile, and making each visit memorable. Thank you for always making me and my business partners feel welcome at your hotel, you are irreplacable!
@Daria and @Alisa you ladies have also made all my visits memorable, thank you for always making me feel welcome, for always ensuring I am having an enjoyable visit, for all your kindness, for all the accomodations, and for always greeting me with the warmest hellos and for never failing to make me and my business partners feel welcome.
@Prabhu I remember you from the restaurant and you have always been very helpful, kind and very accomodating and this has not changed at the front desk. You are very professional, helpful and welcoming thank you for that.
I hardly ever write a review and I know this is a long one, but I truly feel that the light has to shine on the heart of the hotel, which is the staff. Although I have had the opportunity to stay elsewhere I would not ever want to stay anywhere else but here because I simply feel like you have the best, most professional and exceptional customer service and I always look forward to my visit and see the familiar faces at the front desk. Thank you Park Inn for truly making my visits special and memorable every single time. I give a 10/10 to the front desk team. Thank you for all your hard work :-)

Read moreWell, to start with positive things. Location is super for anyone visiting Bratislava for the first time. Moving to the service and rooms it is honestly disappointing. When i first checked in and this is the first time for me in Bratislava i was expecting something else. Receptionist lack of welcoming skills with a literally poker face took our ids checked us in and never bothered him self to even explain about the hotel or to inform us about the facilities, where the breakfast is and other usual information. I actually had to ask about the breakfast.
Here we come to essentials, Hotels must always be cozy comfy and give you a satisfying feeling specially when we talk about 4/5 stars hotel from a well known chain.
Lighting in this hotel was not designed in a good way NOT AT ALL. They are using white fluorescent lights in the corridors and IN THE ROOMS. Or maybe my room at least which was a junior suit. I had no options to control the lights and the disaster was the bathroom, the bathroom has Three white light spots and it’s shiny like a football stadium 😓 imagine yourself waking up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom and you have turn on all of these lights…
Also, the type of pillows used are very very soft and thin so if you have any neck issues consider bringing your own because when i asked to change it they gave me same pillows extra 🤡 and when i asked for that it was around 9 pm and the receptionist told me after 10 the HOUSEKEEPING will bring it to you because they are out now. I discovered later that the next shift receptionist brought to me not the housekeeping but seems like she didn’t want to move from her place.
Overall, hospitality is all about a SMILE welcoming and being friendly and supportive to represent your brand, your country and yourself. And the what i can say in a full mouth that the reception staff in this hotel lack these skills and disappointed me as a first touch point with the Slovakian people.
Sorry for this long review but the management has to take...
