Terrible, incompetent staff! They have no sense of business.
We were tourists and were given a menu in Slovakian only. The waitress barely helps us understand. When we asked about the food in a dish, the answer was limited and incomplete... perhaps the words coming out of her mouth were paying off?
Of course, we then received an order (after a 30-minute wait for eggs and side dishes) that we couldn't eat. And this reflects the total incompetence of the staff, but especially of the manager (the guy with the earring).
In fact, after explaining the situation to one of his colleagues, we see the manager making scornful faces in the background. He had zero empathy... and decided to make us pay full price when the fault lay with the waitress...
Admittedly the place is beautiful, maybe the food is good, but the service before and after the sale is just awful.
As a customer, I tell myself that it happens to be badly served from time to time. So instead of getting angry and jumping to conclusions, I prefer to try the after-sales service... and I can tell you that the "Mondieu" Pánska in Bratislava is just not to be recommended (unless you're Slovak and can read the language).
I don't like writing comments as an independent myself, but the way this has happened is...
Read morewe were really excited to eat here. we heard only good things about it and drove to bratislava just to have a nice brunch at this place. nobody greets new guests as they come in the door, that was the first odd thing. we sat down on a free table - the cafe was about 50% full. It took 15 minutes until someone came to our table. But thats okay! The food is good, right? The first thing the waitress said was that they were out of chocolate. Thankfully we did not want anything with chocolate but it was odd, considering 50% of their menu seemed specialized on chocolate. My friend wanted an iced coffee but "Sorry we are out of ice". Ok. So We ordered 1 french toast and one bread with hummus and avocado. After 40 Minutes we were really hungry and we still did not get our food. We asked the first waitress we could find who just said "sorry i work at the bar." and did not make any effort to try to help. we decided to just leave since we felt very unwelcome. In that moment the food DID arrive with the following comment: "sorry you had to wait that long. Good food takes time" Seriously ? An Avocado on a piece of bread takes you almost an hour? Incredibly unfriendly. And the food was mediocre. I do not recommend unless you have a couple of...
Read moreWe stumbled across this eatery on our first day in Bratislava. We liked it so much that we ended up going there almost every morning for breakfast! You cannot miss their amazingly divine hot chocolate! Their hot chocolate does not contain added milk, but simply rich and thick melted Belgian chocolate which you can choose in any combination! I chose the mixed milk and white chocolate, the milk chocolate with forest fruits and the white chocolate with roasted hazelnuts. Simply a highlight on its own! Then we opted for the following breakfasts: the Savoury French toast served sith bacon, egg and maple syrup and the Sweet French Toast served with forest fruits and maple syrup. The brioche bread was the best I've ever had and simply addictive. We took these almost daily. For sweets we tried their cheesecakes and croissant. These were also perfect, the chocolate cheesecake and Poppyseed Cheesecake being our favourite! Great service and awesome ambiance. Everything delivered with finesse. Always jam packed and slightly pricey, but...
