Koliba Kamzík Zelená — Restaurant in Bratislava

This restaurant is located along an alleyway in the Old Town of Bratislava, serving traditional Slovak dishes.

Kamzik plate (bryndza pierogies, potato gnocchi with bryndza, potato gnocchi with sauerkraut, sausages, bacon, sour cream and chives) : This was my first time to try Slovak dish. The potato-based dumplings mixed with sauerkraut, sausages, bacon and sour cream left me such tantalizing experience on my taste buds. The sheep milk cheese had funky aroma. However, I wanted to keep eating more for every bite that I took. Nevertheless the sauerkraut could have been more acidic to counter the creamy flavor profile of the dish.

Duck breast with pumpkin potato purée with roasted plum sauce : The duck breast was seared to perfection as it was rather pinkish in the middle. The smooth purée displayed the natural sweetness of the pumpkin and potatoes. The sauce did have body. However, the taste of the plum could be improved for better balance in the future.

Potato pierogies stuffed with duck meat served on red cabbage with apple and crispy onion : The dumplings had generous amount of stuffing. The apples and crispy onion were great accompaniment. However, the red cabbage could have been braised longer, leaving more liquid for more juiciness. Then gingerbread spice could be reduced slightly.

Potato dumplings stuffed with smoked meat served on pea purée with roasted onion : The soft dumplings had generous amount of hearty stuffing. The pea purée was so earthy. The roasted onion was a great addition to the dish. The sauce had nice body due to the brown broth...

I am writing to you with the sole intention of sharing a concern that I believe is important for improving the service at your establishment.

Unfortunately, our recent experience on the terrace of your restaurant was disappointing due to the behavior of the waiter in charge of that area. When we politely asked if we could join two tables in order to dine as a group of four, we were met with a blunt refusal and no alternative was offered. To make matters worse, just a few meters away, two people were occupying a table for four.

Faced with this situation, we felt compelled to leave and dine elsewhere, where we were received with courtesy and a willingness to accommodate us.

It is truly a shame not to have been able to enjoy your restaurant, but I feel that this type of attitude from staff can seriously damage the reputation of your business and lead to the loss of customers.

Please consider this message as constructive feedback. I firmly believe that with a more professional and customer-oriented approach, your establishment can continue to deliver the high quality that so many people value.
