UPDATE: I went back after a couple of months with my cousin and his wife. Italian cuisine being closest to my heart, I just had to give them another chance.

Still no veg on the menu, but pasta we ordered changed my mind about this place. I had trofie again. Pesto was fragrant, potatoes just right, no dairy-like vibe, fagiollini perfectly cooked. I would appreciate a little more of them, but nonetheless it was a great dish of pasta.

My companions had thick spaghetti with pecorino and parmigiano, and orecchiete with salsiccia veneta and both dishes were well seasoned and balanced. Big difference after last time. I enjoyed my meal.

As we were leaving, we were approached by the chef-owner, who wanted to discuss my last review from 2 months ago. He was very honest and approachable, sincerely wanted to listen and improve. Super refreshing attitude that is not common in Slovakia. We even talked about the addition of veg to the menu!

I will go back and report again, but now I am adding stars based on this experience.

Food: The most glaring gap on the menu was a salad. Pasta was okay, but no revelation.

I really appreciate the nicely designed restaurant with the option to look directly into the kitchen from outside. The dishes were tasty, but none of them had a real wow effect. I like the simple menu with various pasta dishes all at the same price, and the portions were large enough. The soup and tiramisu were good, but still a step away from perfection. I have nothing to complain about with the pasta, though I would appreciate seeing some classics like carbonara or lasagna on the menu. There’s also the option to buy some Italian products on site. Absolutely delicious pasta dishes and, having been to many 'local' restaurants in Italy, I can assure you they're authentic. (The controversial carbonara dish is no-longer on the menu!)

On our last visit I had a dish with beans, and it was just divine. Husband was also very happy with his choice, which I believe had Italian sausage.

One thing I wish they'd do is add a second, non-lactose dessert. That's all I can possibly complain about.
