I just took the train into Ljubljana, it was a long 10 hour travel day. I just wanted to treat myself to a nice steak dinner and this place was within walking distance to the hotel. The reviews raved about the service and food, so I decided to give it a try.
The entrance was difficult to find but I walked in and asked if they had a table available for 1 and they said of course. I sit down and wait a while. I feel like they forgot about me? The same waiter sits another two ladies, walks right past me. Then he brings over wine, water and bread for them and chats, walks past me again. At this point I was debating leaving since I was yet to be greeted by anyone. Finally the same waiter turns the corner and drops a menu off. Gets the girls appetizer and then comes to me to ask if in ready. I order the shrimp/scallop gnocchi to start and a gin Martini. Apparently they can't do a martini but can do negronis, espresso martinis, and other cocktails? Ok fine, wine it is. They drop bread off with oil and balsamic but no plate? I almost just used the table. I flag someone down for a plate. The gnocchi comes out and there are no shrimp to be seen. It was tasty but overly salted, with two small scallops. The ladies across from me get their entrees and I finish my gnocchi. My wine glass empty as is my plate as well, the waiter finally comes back over to clear my table and ask for my entree order. I order a med rare steak with mashed potatoes, vegetables, mushrooms and another glass of wine. The food did come out prompt but my steak was well done and again what was described on the menu, wasn't there. Just sauteed peppers with zero mushrooms. At least I got my mashed potatoes? I finished the meal and my wine. The waiter cleared everything, but never came back around again until I flagged him down to close out. I under Europe has different customs but to not offer another drink or dessert is crazy to me when you call yourself fine dining. Was it because I'm by myself? Because I'm a foreigner? Never mention of any specials or anything, just what do you want and that's it.
This place calls itself the restaurant most but it's far from that. I wanna say it's restaurant least to be funny but this experience really sucked. I would suggest trying somewhere else if you want to spend this...
Read moreI recently visited Most for a special occasion lunch, and overall, it was a delightful experience. The restaurant provided good service, a delectable menu, and particularly impressive desserts. While the smaller tables indoors were not ideal for our celebration, the overall service was great, and the prices, though on the higher side, were reasonable. I would recommend Most for anyone looking to celebrate a special occasion.
Upon arrival at Most, we were promptly attended to by the attentive staff, setting a positive tone for our dining experience. We started our meal with bruschetta and carpaccio, both of which were appetizing and well-prepared. The flavors were fresh, and the presentation was visually pleasing. For our main dish, we selected roasted sea bass in salt. The dish lived up to our expectations, delivering a succulent and flavorful experience. The kitchen's expertise was evident in the execution of the dish.
The highlight of our meal at Most was undoubtedly the desserts. The selection was impressive, and the quality was exceptional. Each dessert we tried was a delectable treat, leaving us thoroughly satisfied. The attention to detail and the combination of flavors were commendable, and they truly elevated our dining experience.
The only aspect that fell short at Most was the size of the tables indoors, especially given that it was raining outside. While they might be suitable for casual lunches or smaller groups, they were not ideal for our special occasion. However, the exceptional service we received from the staff made up for this minor inconvenience. Their attentiveness and professionalism added to the overall positive experience.
When it comes to pricing, Most leans towards the upper end, but it's important to note that the quality of the food and the service justifies the cost. While it may not be an everyday dining option for everyone, it's reasonable for those looking to celebrate a...
Read moreBefore to write this review, I sent this is the e-mail to the restaurant but they didn't answer me: I wanted to thank you for hosting me, my parents and my friends for New Year's Eve dinner. The location was very nice and the quality of the dishes served was delicious. However I want to make a constructive criticism about the service offered by your waiter, Mr. Tobias (I saw his name in the bill). I had write to you in the previous e-mail that in our group there was a pregnant woman. We had agreed that she could eat something different respect the New Years Eve menu dishes. When we arrived, I requested to the waiter which kind of dishes could he offer to the pregnant woman. He told me that there wasn't other kind of dishes, the only availables was in the New Years menu. I gave to him my phone where there was the e-mail of our agreement, he saw it but he retold me that there weren't other dishes. I asked him if he could bring for the pregnant girl the fish menu without the truffle dishes, but a little hearty and he agreed. Finally the pregnant girl eaten the third dish a little hearty (Sea bass fillet on leek risotto with dehydrated black olives) and the final dish (New Year's Kraf). We were too sorry because she has started to eat when we were at the third dish. During the first and second dish she saw us, and the waiter did nothing, even an apology. When I wanted to pay, the waiter decided to apply the total price of the new year menu to the pregnant woman. I told to him that was not the problem to pay the bill but we were so disappointed because there wasn't a particular respect and attention for a pregnant woman, she began to eat later than us, she only eaten two dishes and because that wasn't our agreement. The answer was: You must pay. I payed and he returned to the other room without thank us and...
