This is a gem of a treasure along the river in Ljubljana! The rooms surround a courtyard of a 400-year-old renovated house. I took a chance booking a room overlooking the river instead of the courtyard. It reportedly stood a chance of being louder than the courtyard rooms, but had a view over the well-supported local bar and river and toward the castle. I woke up around midnight having heard some light noise outside. It was slight-a bike riding by-even though there were still people sitting at the tables below. The room was extremely comfortable and well-equipped.||||Service was friendly, helpful and efficient. They have no restaurant so gave us coupons for a welcome drink at the bar below and breakfast pastries and coffee at a restaurant nearby.||||The bar below and area along this part of the Riva have to be the busiest area of town and perfectly located. It is not far from the Dragon Bridge between Precnik's Butcher's and Triple Bridges, across from the castle and cathedral. ||||The location is PERFECT for enjoying the vibrant, active life of Ljubljana and crossing the bridges to squares. Our stay at this fantastic place was absolutely perfect! From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with such warmth and genuine hospitality by the owner and it truly made us feel welcome and at home. The room itself was stunning, spacious, beautifully decorated, and equipped with a huge and modern TV. The bathroom was incredibly stylish and modern, a real highlight! And the bed? Pure comfort! We slept like a dream. What really was appreciated a lot was the breakfast cards and the welcome drinks. They were such a fantastic touch. It was so convenient and enjoyable to be able to pop down for a drink or a delicious breakfast without any hassle. I can't recommend Petkovsek Rooms and Apartments highly enough. I had always wanted a few days in Ljubljana and convinced my parents to come with me and we were very happy. Check in was very friendly, we were able to check in early. The room was not quite ready on arrival but were given a free welcome drink at the bar downstairs and by the time we had finished these the room was ready. It was very modern with comfortable beds and the host was very informative. This place is right on the river in the old town and we could not have been happier with the location. The bar downstairs had a large selection of drinks with friendly efficient staff with competitive prices. A light breakfast was also included and the pistachio croissants were to die for!!!!
