The location is excellent in the middle of Piran. The small rooms are new and clean and reasonably priced. The breakfast is fine and the lady running the place is very friendly.||However: The mattress is not very comfortable (I could feel the bed post or mattress springs) and the sheets and towel had a bad smell of fungus. It’s the smell you get when you don’t dry your laundry well enough. ||The hotel offers parking at a reduced rate of 11 Euro. I e-mailed them upfront to enquire about the procedure, but they told me they would explain it upon arrival. Well, it’s quite complicated, so I’ll explain it here... The parking is at Garazna hisa Fornace, which is normally €17 for 24 hrs and the reduced rate from Piranart is €11 for 24 hours. You will see the garage on your left after the first roundabout after leaving Portoroz and before entering Piran. However, you first need to get your parking ticket from Piranart Guest house, so give Piranart a call before you enter Piran and they will meet you at a small parking lot in front of Restaurant Pavel, which is the furthest point in Piran you can reach by car. To get there, enter Piran through the gate, take a parking ticket and follow the road parallel to the coast and harbour. On that parking lot near restaurant Pavel, Piranart will give you the parking ticket. If there is a parking space, park your car, walk to the guesthouse (which is only 3 minutes walking), make sure you leave town within an hour, pay €3 and park the car in the Fornace Garage. Alternatively, if there is no parking space at the small parking lot or if you want to save €3, you would need to split and one of you takes the luggage and walk to the guesthouse and the other parks the car in the Fornace Garage or both of you go back to Fornace Garage, but that would require a longer walk with luggage (from the garage to the garage shuttle stop and from the shuttle stop in town to the guest house). If you leave the gated area within 15 minutes, you don’t have to pay anything. After parking your car in Fornace, head down with the elevator to the 1st floor and walk towards the sea. From here you can take a free shuttle bus to town (once every 15 minutes) or walk back (20 minutes to the guest house). When you leave, it’s the same procedure, but the other way around as you need to return the...
Read moreFantastic Vegan Options with Warm Hospitality
I recently had the pleasure of visiting this establishment, and I must say, it was an absolute delight. Their wide range of options for vegans, including the best vegan ice cream, gluten-free pizza, and pasta, truly exceeded my expectations.
From the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted by the staff, who made us feel right at home. Their genuine hospitality and friendly demeanor added an extra layer of enjoyment to our dining experience.
Now, let's talk about the food. The vegan ice cream options were out of this world. Each flavor was delectable, creamy, and bursting with taste. It's evident that great care and attention to detail go into the creation of these frozen treats. Whether you're a vegan or not, I highly recommend trying them out.
Moving on to their gluten-free and vegan pizza and pasta. I was blown away by the quality and flavor of these dishes. The pizza had a perfectly crispy crust, topped with a medley of fresh vegetables and vegan cheese that melted in your mouth. Additionally, the gluten-free pasta was cooked to perfection, and the sauce was rich and flavorful.
What stood out to me about this place was not only the exceptional variety and quality of vegan options but also the effort they put into making them taste just as good, if not better, than their non-vegan counterparts. It's clear that they have a passion for providing excellent vegan cuisine.
I highly encourage anyone in the area to make a stop at this establishment. Whether you're a vegan, have dietary restrictions, or simply appreciate delicious food, you won't be disappointed. The combination of incredible flavors, warm hospitality, and dedication to vegan fare sets this place apart from the rest.
In summary, I can confidently say that this establishment offers the world's best vegan ice cream, along with delectable gluten-free and vegan pizza and pasta. You'll be greeted with a warm welcome and leave with a satisfied belly. Don't miss out on this gem if you're...
Read moreWe had an extremely disappointing experience at this restaurant in Piran. We waited an hour and a half to get our food — a simple gluten-free pasta and a regular pizza. After one hour, I asked the waiter how much longer it would take, and instead of a clear answer, I received a long explanation about how they have only one kitchen and that preparing gluten-free dishes takes longer.
I genuinely appreciate that they offer gluten-free options — it was the reason we chose this place — but the wait time was absolutely unreasonable. If the staff is aware that food preparation takes this long, the bare minimum would be to inform guests in advance. We had limited time in Piran, and this unnecessary delay took away a big chunk of it.
It wasn’t just the food — we also had to wait quite a while for someone to take our order, and even the drinks came very slowly. The service was incredibly slow overall, despite there being at least 10 staff members working, and only 3 or 4 tables occupied.
The food itself tasted good, but my pistachio pasta had actual pieces of pistachio shells in it, which was unpleasant and clearly a mistake that shouldn’t happen.
At the end, they offered free ice cream as compensation for the long wait, which I appreciated, but honestly, we were just so fed up we wanted to leave as soon as possible.
Overall, I would not recommend this restaurant. The long waiting time and poor service ruined what should have been a nice lunch in a...
