I stopped by Pizzeria & Fast Food JADRO during a short trip to the Slovenian coast, and honestly, I was really pleasantly surprised. From the moment I arrived, it felt welcoming—nothing too fancy or touristy, just a clean, casual spot that clearly gets a lot of love from locals and visitors alike.
It’s tucked away just a few steps from the main road in Piran, and parking was a lot easier than I expected. I managed to find a spot just a few meters from the entrance, which is a rare win in this area. The restaurant itself is simple, but bright and tidy, with big windows that let in lots of light—and if you sit in the right place, you can catch a glimpse of the sea. It’s not a place for fine dining, but that’s not the point. It’s relaxed and friendly, which is exactly what I was looking for.
The staff really made a difference. They greeted me with big smiles and were super patient while I browsed the menu. I changed my mind halfway through ordering, asked a couple of questions, and not once did they seem annoyed. They spoke English well, which helped, and gave off that “nothing is too much trouble” energy.
Now, onto the food—the reason I came. I had heard their pizza was good, so I went with a classic: prosciutto and mushrooms. It came out in about 15 minutes and was piping hot, with a golden, crispy crust and plenty of toppings. It wasn’t overly greasy or too salty, just a really well-balanced pizza. Not the best pizza I’ve ever had in my life, but definitely one of the better ones I’ve had in a touristy coastal town.
Out of curiosity, I also ordered some potato croquettes on the side and a small mixed salad. The croquettes were crisp on the outside and soft inside, clearly freshly made and not just reheated frozen stuff. The salad was nothing fancy but fresh and had a nice vinaigrette dressing. I saw a few burgers being brought to other tables too—big portions, looked great. If I go again, I’d try one of those.
Prices were totally reasonable. For the pizza, side, salad, and a drink, I paid just under 15 euros, which felt fair given the portion sizes and the overall quality. In a town where some places charge way too much just because of the view, JADRO strikes a good balance between value and experience.
Overall, it’s the kind of place you feel good about going to. Not pretentious, not overpriced, just solid food and friendly service in a convenient location. If you’re in the area and want something casual but satisfying, I’d definitely recommend it. I’ll be back next time...
Read moreI recently visited this pizzeria with my family and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and the warm, welcoming vibe. The pizza crust was perfectly crisp on the outside and soft on the inside, and the toppings tasted fresh and flavorful. I especially loved the Tuna pizza and the Bambus – both were delicious!
The service was friendly and fairly quick, even though the place was busy.
It was a great experience, and I’ll definitely be back for another...

Try a glass of local Malvazija white wine with pizza of the house. Special regards for waiter from Tetovo (unfortunately we didn't exchange names), excellent service, very polite, dedicated...
