Yesterday, I had the pleasure of dining at Stara gostilna with my friends, and it was an absolute delight! Although not all the ingredients were to my taste, every dish was truly delicious. The exquisite combination of flavors unveiled new tastes that were truly captivating.

The ambiance was absolutely enchanting, and we had the pleasure of sitting inside the terrace with glass walls. The romantic atmosphere added to the overall charm of the evening, making it an unforgettable experience.

However, there were only two small things that I didn't love. Firstly, the wait time between the first courses seemed longer than expected. But, to be fair, we were all famished, so it might have just been our hunger talking. Secondly, I really missed having a hanger for our coats, which made things a little awkward. But, as you can see, these minor issues hardly detracted from our overall experience.

Visited during the "Teden restavracij" promotion, when selected restaurants offer a lower-priced degustation menu — and what an experience it was! The food at Stara Gostilna, Piran was truly outstanding — each dish beautifully presented, rich in flavor, and thoughtfully composed. Any fear of receiving portions that are too small is completely unnecessary; the serving sizes are perfectly comparable to those in other high-cuisine restaurants.

The service was exceptional — attentive, friendly, and professional. What truly sets Stara Gostilna apart, however, is the personal touch: the chef himself comes to present and serve some of the dishes, adding a rare sense of warmth and authenticity that makes the experience feel both refined and genuinely welcoming.
