From outside you are able to see very clear-lii all the activities taking place inside and when you are setting inside you can pear outside in the front and take in all the activities around the Saturday morning market which is run here at Woodbridge Shopping Mall but the best is the awesome view of the Plattekloof hill that is enjoyed when you sit outside on the back balcony. Read moreAfter supporting this business for years and having positive experiences, this past Wednesday 23 February 2022, the game changed for me, for ever.
A friend and I, looking for a good coffee on our way to a meeting, popped into the store. Only to to find that they were closed (although the door was open - for a bit of a breeze).
Greeted by a very friendly lady, Kayla, who had already cashed up and logged off her terminal, we asked if there was anywhere else where we could find a coffee.
Kayla asked what it was that we would have liked to drink (if they were still open) and without warning, promptly started to prepare our coffees. Needless to say, we were elated, as the caffeine kick after a long day at work and heading to the meeting, was genuinely needed.
We struck up a conversation about how Die Ou Meul was trading post lockdown and were very surprised to find an employee who was so amazingly positive and gracious about how things are not 100% back to normal yet, but how they have made adjustments and how it is currently working out for them.
We ended up leaving with complimentary Americanos and broad smiles on our faces and in our hearts.
To the Owners of Die Ou Meul Willowbridge:
It's not so much about the free coffee, which was great by the way, but the experience that blew us away. This young lady showed grace and wisdom, far beyond her age. She handled the situation flawlessly and instilled such pride in us, for knowing that the future of South Africa are in the hands of people like Kayla.
Treasure this woman.
She has reaffirmed what we always knew and thought of Die Ou Meul. And that is that it's a place where we can get great service, amazing coffee and meals, an awesome atmosphere and where we always have and always will make memories.
May your business grow from strength to strength and may Kayla grow with...
Read moreDisappointing Breakfast Experience at Ou Meul Willowbridge We recently visited Ou Meul Willowbridge for breakfast and unfortunately, our experience left a lot to be desired. Despite the restaurant not being particularly busy, the entire visit was riddled with frustrations.
Firstly, the manager led us to a balcony table still occupied by other diners. After realizing his mistake, he simply turned and left us standing awkwardly in the middle of the restaurant, offering no further assistance. We eventually found a table ourselves around a corner.
After placing our drink order, we were informed that the breakfast wait time would be 45-50 minutes. The waiter even pressured us to order immediately, implying an even longer wait if we delayed. Given the long wait and the initial confusion, we decided to forgo breakfast altogether.
To add insult to injury, the card machine malfunctioned, requiring multiple attempts before they finally switched to a working machine. Of course, throughout this entire debacle, the manager remained a ghost, his apology as elusive as a functioning credit card reader.
So, if you're looking for a breakfast that involves public humiliation, questionable service, and the distinct possibility of spontaneous combustion from frustration, then Ou Meul is your Mecca! Just don't say we didn't warn you.
Hence overall experience at Ou Meul Willowbridge very...
