COPA Restaurant — Restaurant in undefined

We visited Copa about a week ago and since then I have been trying to write a review to do the experience justice. Our experience was nothing less than fantastic. After a small hick-up we were treated to the best dining experience of our lives. Amazing staff and food!

The wait staff was friendly and very professional(thank you Michelle). The sommelier knew his stuff and treated our pallets to some superb pairings(thank you Sakumzi). Lastly but not leastly the chef (Unfortunately we completely forgot to take your name, but thank you so much!)..wow all our food was executed perfectly and beautifully; for the eyes as well as the pallet. This man knows his stuff!!!

How this restuarant is not packed to capacity every night is absolutely beyond us. It must honestly be Cape town's best kept secret!

P.S. All in all I still feel my review does not do this restaurant justice. Go and experience...

What a nice, hidden gem of a restaurant. The ambience is really nice, it was a quiet day and they were able to give you that extra attention. Service was very friendly. I had the ostrich carpaccio which was quite good, though probably lacking a bit in depth of flavour. My wife had the line fish which was kingklip, and it was fresh and cooked well. I had a filet mignon, requested to be made medium. Unfortunately I got a well done steak which I couldn't eat and had to send back. They made minimal fuss though and brought a refired which, if anything, was now a medium rare. It was enjoyable nonetheless. Their menu is simple and classic, not too adventurous. I wouldn't mind going back if I'm looking for a no fuss, well...

The decor is absolutely beautiful. Ambience could be improved, its very quiet and awkward sometimes when the music is off. Food was very good but not quite fine dining at fine dining prices. I’m not sure how to describe it but it was like some of the fancy elements described on the menu were missing eg. The orange and vanilla crème brúlée didn’t seem to have any orange, and the lavender was not apparent in the shortbread (not sure it was even shortbread) etc. The one waiter in particular was very friendly and entertaining but the staff were really busy running around and so we ended up waiting very long at times.
