Pizzasaurus — Restaurant in District Six

Pros: 5 stars for being vegetarian and vegan!! This is such a winner for Cape Town.

Cons: these are really minor actually and could vary from the time or purpose of your visit. Daytime music was way too loud. I was keen to do some remote work and spend the afternoon there but found it very difficult to concentrate. Others may not mind and keen to hang out and have a pizza party. Unfortunately the outdoor gas heater had run out of gas as well which meant sitting outside in winter was not comfortable. The Brontosaurus pizza was missing its pineapple 🍍 somehow. I remember when this place used to be Lefty's. And Pizzasaurus felt like a great new venture to have taken over from Lefty's. The food was excellent, the service was great!

Two stars only because of the Generative AI posters throughout the restaurant advertising the specials and karaoke night. In a city packed full of creatives, and high unemployment, using Generative AI to save money on marketing just leaves a sour taste in wanting to support the management (what else could they be cutting costs in?), when everything else about Pizzasaurus was a blast for all my friends and myself.

What an amazing place! Pizzasaurus is not only the best concept ever (as a vegan dinosaur lover, I can say this without any drop of bias), but it’s also just the loveliest spot with awesome decor and ambiance and delicious food. The pizzas are too notch and they also do milkshakes!

You have the option of vegan or vegetarian-only for almost anything on the menu. So yes, vegan milkshakes are ON! You can purchase oat milk and frozen savoury pies to take home, and they’ve recently started making their own vegan cheese which is divine. You can try a tasting platter, which I’d definitely recommend.
