I seem to have magical powers at this coffee shop. The moment I enter I become invisible to the staff.
This has happened to me a few times now. I just get ignored by the staff.
Today, a waitron cleaned all the tables around me and served the patron who arrived after me, but did not notice or serve me.
I spoke to the manager who called the owner. Of course he apologised profusely, but I did not get the impression that he had any plans to ensure that this did not occur again.
This coffee shop serves the Mediclinic staff, patients and visitors. So they have "captive" patrons.
With this apathy and slackness, this restaurant would not remain in business outside of the hospital environment.
Mediclinic should address this shocking service. Many patients need to eat here as they may not be well enough to cook food at home.
Visitors of patients may also need to eat here because their routines are disrupted when loved ones are hospitalized.
I suggest that Cafe Dynamis which is on the corner of Paul Kruger and Hibiscus (just behind the hospital) be...
Read moreI placed the order at 12:50 over the phone, knowing my lunch break was starting at 13:00. I could tell it was busy, so went in about 10 minutes later to pick up my order and pay.
I paid and waited for nearly 20 minutes, during which time other people who ordered after me were served before me. Finally, I asked the cashier to check on my order. She went to the back, and from where I was standing, I could see her asking one of the cooks about it, to which the cook replied that they hadn’t even started.
She then came back and told me it would be ready in 5 minutes, even though I had just saw otherwise. That kind of response felt dishonest and really disappointing, especially since I had ordered ahead of time to avoid delays during my short lunch break. To top it up not the first time that it happens...
Read moreOrdered a cuppachino and enquired about the cake selection. The moment I said okay bring the cuppachino but give me a moment to decide the waitresses demeanor changed. I finished my cup and called her to order. I said I would like to order and proceeded to ask about the availability of avo, since it is not a product that is always available and, was replied to in a very snubby manner "I don't know" and then she directed her attention to the till point that I was seated next too. I said to her I'm not satisfied with the treatment and that she should just give me my bill. Upon leaving she wanted to discuss the matter making excuses but, at that time I've had enough and left. Cuppachino was good but expensive if price vs size...
