A bad experience voids any beautiful setting.

Albeit beautiful, the service was dismal and the list of frustrations are ridiculously long. I cannot speak for a table of two but for a big party, they really disappointed.

Slow service, incorrect orders, unfriendly responses, unprepared staff, cocktails from the gutter - these are a few of the things I can say ticked my family and friends off - the cherry on the cake, it was my birthday dinner that was ruined.

Food had to be sent back to the kitchen after waiting and hour for our orders to start arriving. Some of the meat & fish were so dry it couldn't even compensate for the rest of the evening. The drinks started coming to the table after half an hour and comments such as "it tastes like medicine " or "it's vomit" was made. Steak knives should come standard with steak but we had to ask, more than once. The entire restaurant only had two waiters.

To put a cluttered, uncleared table into perspective - coke was poured from a can to a glass and the empty can was put onto the table. A second orange juice was ordered and placed next to the empty glass of the previous orange juice. A glass of whiskey and separate a glass of water was brought when a "Double whiskey and water" was ordered and when we asked for ice, it was put into the glass of water.

I wouldn't recommend this place for any special occasion because to expect a good evening and excellence would be utterly disappointing and...

I had such a nice experience at Eighty Ate.

Seating: The sliding doors were open with shear curtain gently falling from ceiling. It made me feel like was able to enjoy being outside without be outside.

Atmosphere: Brandy was playing, which creating a light hearted calming experience. The staff was always checking to see if I needed anything from a distance, without interrupting or feeling intrusive. I felt comfortable to stay throughout the day.

Food: I ordered the alfredo. It is homemade pasta. The care that that was taken to thinly slice the pasta and mushroom and ham was very thoughtful. Each bite gently melted in my mouth. No competing tastes, just enjoyment.

I was fortunate to get parking right out side. There was no parking marshals to hustle you. The neighbourhood watch presence made it feel very safe. There were people taking walk in the garden which added to the...

We bought a wiki deal for a "Gourmet" Picnic basket. The promise was : Fruit salad Cheese selection Pastrami Olive, sundried tomato & feta bowl Freshly baked bread rolls Crackers Preserves Droewors snack Gourmet chicken wraps (crispy chicken strips, slaw, cheddar & sweet chilli sauce) Fruit juices Chocolates for dessert

What we got: A kitkat A laughing cow cheese wedge and a tiny piece of gouda Some pots of apricot jam 2 tiny old rolls A couple of pieces of such old droerwors that it was white and smelly Liquifruit boxes Tiny wraps A small packet of salticracks No pastrami

When we took it back all they could say was that's what they serve. Shocked and disgusted!!!

EDIT: after complaining, the chef sorted us out a bit and gave us some blue cheese to add and exchanges the old droerwors. He also gave the pastrami...

Went there for my sister's 25th birthday on the 3rd Septermber, I must say we received a warm welcome from the reception and the waiters. The food was nice, portions were huge and the atmosphere was just something else. Thanks to the manager who managed to move the dates from the 4th sept to the 3rd as desired as 3rd was fully booked on call. The waiters kept checking up on us. We enjoyed our time there and definitely going back. I loved the chilled environment. I also have managed to get brownie points from my sisters too, they could not keep their month closed about the place. The service was super excellent!!!

We went there for dinner, the staff actually welcomed us from the door with so much warmth and friendliness. Took the covid regulations very serious, they had masks, took our temperature at the door and sanitized our hands.. Thank you for that. The food was amazing, we had the lamb shank and my goodness it was falling from the bone and was surprisingly filing, then for desert we had their top deck chocolate mousse and it was melting on my tongue to be honest and we loved it. Thank you for being professional and very friendly.

I really enjoyed the buffet breakfast that was offered. The staff was welcoming and informative. The service was impeccable and I felt very comfortable. There were no feeling of being rushed. Extremely relaxed atmosphere, that was conducive to laughter. The attention to the clients seemed like magic with a waitron checking if you needed something as soon as you looked around . Highly recommended.
