On the top floor with a view of the street, Hein ordered their Gourmet Pulled Pork Sandwich - served with creme fraiche, cos lettuce, tangy pickles and creamy coleslaw with crisps. It was absolutely delicious!!!!! The bun was soft, pork flavorsome and juice ... I ordered the Mini Breakfast (breakfast is served till 1 pm). It was yum!!!

To drink, Hein ordered a Lime and Soda - but usually he has lots of lime cordial left ... so I thought (silly me), while I'm sipping my Red Cappuccino, why not add some of the lime cordial? Well .... it curdled spectacularly!!!!!! Instead of sipping, I was spooning out the rest of my cappuccino.

Love the decor of the place - waiters are good.

Next to us was a table who ordered Nachos. My eyes nearly popped out!!!! It was a humongous portion!!!!!! Really - big enough for 4 people to munch on. Nachos is R102 - add R32 for beef/chicken/pulled pork.

Apparently on Wednesdays, they have pizzas for R99 - and they are huge ... will have to...

Left me in a fowl mood.

Today, my wife and I planned our lunch time after our Covid vax. We knew exactly where we wanted to eat and what to eat. We came there and I was wearing a Manchester United Football Jersey minding my own business.

The gentlemen at the entrance 'Jokingly' said I'm not allowed inside because of my MUFC jersey, and asked my wife what she thinks.... baring in mind I'm not a person who jokes about football teams to random people.

After this, he showed us to a waiter to take us upstairs and we had a sit down for a few minutes, but to be honest, by this time I was already upset because of the comment made downstairs. So we got up and left because it left me feeling really annoyed.

Don't joke about football teams to people you don't know. Don't deny access to people for their choice of team to support. It can be a joke but, it annoyed me beyond any reasonable doubt and we left just because of that. Honestly don't think we will be...

went to second story to celebrate getting my learners license with my friend. the atmosphere was very boring and dead, as soon as we entered we weren’t even escorted to our table or told if we were allowed to sit. we had to wait for someone behind the counter to shout across that we needed to go upstairs.

our first waiter was very aloof, he guided us to our table only to abandon us and ignore us when we called him. at least we got a better waitress, she was great. the sushi, oh lord, the sushi was terrible and not worth the price. the bill came to R306 for everything here, i didn’t even want to continue eating because of how underwhelming the sushi was, wanted to call the manager and express my disdain but it didn’t seem worth the hassle. i just wouldn’t come back here. could have gotten better sushi at the food court in sandton city, they would have at least made it look more...

Early dinner with a friend who I don't get to see often enough. She picked the place because there are many options for types of cuisine on the menu. She is also vegetarian and finds enough choice. We started with the teriyaki edemame which had a hint of spice and we both enjoyed very much. She chose a vegetarian sushi option for the main, which was very good and I went for something that I can't get back home - a toasted chicken and mayo sandwich (added cheddar cause I'm on vaca). Both meals were very good. Portions were generous and I was able to take half the sandwich home. The restaurant is comfortable and very nicely decorated. It is located in the Sandton City Mall and there is paid garage parking available. The restaurant was not busy, even when we left at 7pm, but it was a Monday evening. Other options on the menu included small plates, pizza and pasta.

Well decorated restaurant. Food portions were quite large. The food was delicious. Staff were friendly and attentive but not overbearing. Would definitely recommend this for a nice dinner or date. We were pleasantly surprised to find out that their meat is sourced from halal certified burthers (however, they do serve alcohol so I don't think the whole restaurant can be seen as halal). What we ordered: * pepper steak pasta (can't remember the exact name, but there was a Tuesday special on pastas, so we got a glass of wine as well) * nachos with chicken * hot chocolate * earl grey tea * americano coffee * red velvet cake (it's half cheesecake half red velvet) The bill came out to around R500 - quite reasonable considering we left stuffed and with leftovers.
